Brewers at Nats

Good chance for the Nats to take a series here, as the Brewers will start essentially two #5's in Narveson and ex-Nat Marco Estrada. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Brewers destroy Gorzelanny though.

Nyjer returns to the "non-baseball town" of DC.

Narveson vs. Gorzelanny
Gallardo vs. Marquis
Estrada vs. Hernandez

Nats win 4-3 without really still putting up much offense. Error by Betencourt gets Werth on in the 10th, he steals third as the Brewers inexplicitly don't pay much attention, and the Nats win on a LaRoche grounder. Good chance for a series win now, although it's tough to imagine The Nats doing much versus Gallardo.

Bad weather forecast for Saturday day, hope the game is not interrupted.

After a rainout Saturday, Nats sweep the Brewers in a Sunday DH to go to 8-7 on the year and sweep the series, a pretty good accomplishment without Zimmy. Of course, last year the Nats did well before the wheels came off in May.

The key has obviously been starting pitching. Livo and Marquis threw well today, and with Clippard, Burnett, Storen, the Nats have a decent chance anytime the starters can keep it close.

Long-term its most important Jordan Zimmermann lock up the #2, and then the Nats can pick and choose from their organizational depth for #3, #4, and #5, but this year, any success is mainly contingent on the starters pitching well or even just okay.
