Wilson Ramos kidnapped???

Post#1 » by Jollay » Thu Nov 10, 2011 1:23 am

You have got to be kidding me. In Venezuela.

I hope this isn't true. God bless him and his family if true.

Ramos is well-liked and was very kind to me and all the season ticket holders I knew, very gracious with a good sense of humor.

I pray for him and his family. This brings up a whole mess of issues I don't even want to think about right now--has it ever even happened with a significant pro athlete from country? Will the Nats and MLB help pay to get him back?

I'm pretty sure there's been family members of athletes that have been kidnapped but not an athlete himself. Venezuela is very dangerous right now and I have no clue why they keep going back. I understand its their homeland and all, but you're rich, and that puts you at risk.

Just saw this and I also agree that this is the first time I've heard of the actual athlete being kidnapped, as opposed to a family member. I hope all of this ends with him being safe.

They found the vehicle he was taken in, and according to reports he's still alive. We'll see what happens. Needless to say if he comes out of this unscathed, this is probably the last time he's ever stepping foot in his country.

Thank God. The pics of him hugging his mother choked me up a little.

Can't wait to see him at Nats Park next year.
