We better have a winner in the new ballpark in about 2-3 years or our fickle fans will stop filling the building

Well, Bowden seems to have found the Midas touch this off-season so anything is possible.

Well Ji I think it'll be you and I all season until the forum picks up.

First and foremost we suck!

The pitching rotation is real nasty (in a bad way.) We have Patterson who is nice but not your ace, Chico has potential to be a real nice player but after that it is pretty bad. Hill is a fifth starter, Bergmann is nothing, and Williams has been a bust.

Our bullpen sucks too! We have Rauch who is pretty good and Cordero but after that things get real thin. We brought in Ray King so we may have the tallest and heaviest pitchers in the league (Rauch and King, respectivley.) Ayala is set to start the season on the DL so that is no good.

Our offense sadly isn't much better. We get back Guzman which is probably worse than better for this team. Church-Logan-Kearns is an average outfeild but I hope Church doesn't go into another funk and if he does Snelling is decent. Schnieder is a good defensive catcher but he may be one of the worst on offense. Lopez and Young I like at first and second but still it isn't much to get excited over. Then we have our pride and joy in Ryan Zimmerman. He is great but he can only do so much.

Well I end it with a familiar phrase "Go Nats!"

Worst. Ever.

Him and Vinny Castilla were two bone-head moves by the Nats front office. Thankfully Vinny is gone but we still are paying the price for Guzman.

I've been a fan of this franchise since the early 90's but even I'm starting to waver in my support for the team. I know we aren't going to be very good this year but I really need something to hold on to.

Word.

He isn't even a bench player anymore let alone a starter. Hopefully sooner rather than later the young Josh Wilson will be inserted into the starting lineup relieving that piece of junk of any and all playing time.

It has to be a bad sign when our commentators were so aghast at the possibility of loosing Nook Logan for an extended period of time. Though Don Sutton also added something about "unlimited potential" so they might have been joking and or lying to make conversation.

Speaking of Sutton I thought he and Bob Carpenter had a pretty solid start to the season in the booth together, though I wasn't able to see more than four or five innings of the game.

And finally, a terrible team that's very conscious of its own crapiness means yet another opportunity for me to delight myself with endless draft speculation. Might we manage the first pick in next year's draft? Signs point to a Pedro Alverez/Isaac Galloway/Aaron Hicks-tastic 2009 in Melbourne and possibly Potomac.

I've read the things from afar on how this team is "building for the future" (see we're not spending and we're fielding a minor league team) but i don't understand how this team didn't sign cheap starting pitchers like Mark Redman when they signed cheap posistion players like Dmitri Young.

5 of the first 70 picks in this years pretty deep draft(2 for Soriano leaving and one for Jose Guillen leaving)...
We have the #6 overall pick and should be able to get a very good young arm early...
