Scouting Report:
Marlins: A year ago, Olsen opened the season with one Triple-A start before being mixed into the rotation early in April. An early season day off allowed the club to filter Olsen in early, and he remained a fixture throughout the season. The 23-year-old lefty went 1-1 with a 2.60 ERA against the Nationals in 2006. He logged 180 2/3 innings with a club-high 166 strikeouts last season.
Nationals: Hill was the best Nationals pitcher in Spring Training, but his talent on the mound was never the issue. It was staying healthy, which hasn't been the case the last three seasons because of elbow problems. He is healthy now and will face the Marlins for the first time in his career.
Nats Homepage.
I expect Hill to hold himself better than Patterson did. Hill has the stuff but as the article says he can't stay healthy making him a real gamble for us.

Zimmerman is going to be a beast in this league for years to come. I just dread the day, where instead of paying him the big bucks... they trade him away for draft picks. Just like in the good old days of the Expos... nothing has changed with this organization since the move... just the Attendance. We'll have to see how long that lasts. But I've been an Expos fan for as long as I can remember, and I've followed them faithfully here to DC.

Allow 9 runs for the second straight game, wonderful. However Hill did a lot better than his stats suggested. He was screwed in the first after he hit a batter and two fielding errors occurred. He had good control and threw good stuff so I wasn't disappointed in his performance.
Tomorrow we get to see the highly touted Chico which will be nice, hopefully he will guide us to our first W.

WSH: LHP Matt Chico (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Chico appeared in six exhibition games in 2007 and was 2-2 with a 5.16 ERA. Chico struck out 13 and walked nine in 22 2/3 innings.
FLA: RHP Anibal Sanchez (10-3, 2.83 ERA)
Sanchez was successful against the Nationals last year. The right-hander won two games and gave up seven runs in 25 innings against them.
Where do the Marlins get all these young pitchers!? Anyways seeing Chico is exciting and we get to see more of Josh Wilson and Kory Casto. Hopefully we can pull off a win in our home opening season finale.

well they battled back. it's now 6-4 in the top of the 7th. 3 innings to salvage the series.
The Marlins are a good young team. The Nationals could use the people in their front office.

Nats score 3 in the bottom of the 9th to win it! Dimitri Young singles home the winning run.
Jorge Julio was lit up.
Congrats to Manny Acta on his first win.

ill see you guys in 2008
I was so happy when I saw this post because I knew the Nats would battle back, thanks Ji!
Dimitri Young proving once again why he is a starting first baseman. Imagine Travis Lee in that situation, guranteed double-play. The bullpen played really well except for Ray King's error. Hitters did awesome, just an overall fun game to watch.
Go Nats!
