He never figured out how to play well when Jokic is absent , he buried lots of young players who are doing well somewhere else now. He can't even motivate his best player to bring the best effort every night. This team is stuck with complacency and I blame this on the coach. He should have been gone long time ago.
Only sports fans can call for someone's job when they are 3rd overall in their conference. I have my own issues with Malone, but I always notice that just like Karl, nobody has a replacement they just want someone fired.
It is a long season, every team goes through periods where they lose a couple when they shouldn't and also a period when they win games they shouldn't. Sure Malone benefits from Jokic's talent, the entire franchise does, but as long as Jokic is happy with Malone he isn't going anywhere.
By the way who are the young players that Malone buried that are doing so well elsewhere? If you bring up Bol, then you only show that you were not watching games he played last year when he literally did nothing. Vanderbilt? The guy who can't shoot, can't dribble, and can only play as an undersized big? How does he fit with Jokic?
The views like these just show lack of an ambition of Denver Nuggets. Denver's FO is like that, they wont do any change to improve their chances to become the serious title contenders and its clear as the day that Malone is the weakest link on this team. Golden State did the perfect move that have changed their club history, they replaced the coach that they knew he wouldn't get them near to the title contention and as soon they replaced him, they started winning. Mark my word ,this team wont go further than the first or second round of the play off as long Mlaone is the coach of this team . Mike Malone is not the type of the coach that can lead the team to the great success. He's the bad tactician, his players management is bad, he has bunch of bad habits that makes him mediocre coach, he can't install winning mentality into his players . Denver will regret wasting Jokic's prime years.
Denver's front office is like that? How the heck do you know what the front office is like considering Booth has only been in charge about 6 months?
Golden State replaced their coach because they were about to have a mutiny by the players after regressing the year before they fired him. Maybe you missed the entire year after Jackson was fired where there were wide reports of him causing issues with the players against the front office and each other? The way he belittled his players who are not christians? Is Malone doing any of that?
By the way we can't go further than the 2nd round? Yet we are 2 years removed from the conference finals.
You still have not answered the question, what young players and who is your replacement coach? You can toot your own horn all you want, but considering the fact that you can not come up with a viable answer to either question says all we need to know about your opinions. As I said you are a typical low information fan, blame the coach when the team loses and give him no credit when they win.
Like it or not, in the NBA if the stars love the coach, the coach isn't leaving, and last I checked Jokic loves Malone.
