Kind of random, but does anyone notice how Camby

Post#1 » by MELO4MVP » Sun Feb 3, 2008 7:30 am

beats up his teammates and damn near hurt them when going for rebounds?

I was wondering if anyone noticed this. It annoys me every time. I just wanted to know if I was the only one who noticed this.

I've definitely seen him fight for rebounds with his own players and have it result in turnovers before...

I don't think he's hurting anyone, a few looseballs here and there but he gets rebounds that are even far out for anyone to get.

He has knocked down team mates going for boards. This season he elbowed Melo in the head.

I've seen him take a rebound from a team mate who clearly had it.

Annoys me too. It is good he will go for boards, but he shouldn't be doing it at the expense of his team mates. Makes it look like he is just trying to stuff his stats. And causing turnovers by doing that in close games is bad. Add that to the fact he thinks he is a point guard and takes bad shots, he seems like a really selfish player.

I agree with you, though not fully. It's weird to think a defensive-minded player could be so selfish.

I dont mind it as long as every stolen rebound satisfies him enough to take one less shot.

Thats the main reason he pushes out teammates to get a board.

Reminds me of how he grabbed a board at the end of the game, when it was going out of bounds with like 1 second left on the clock, lol.

Personally, I like it when he does it. If the rest of the team went after boards the way he does, then he wouldn't have a chance to steal the board from them. I wish we had this problem with more players on this team.

You must not understand. Melo can have a rebound in his hand, then Camby would come punch/kick/bite him until he let go

Yeah, what MELO4MVP said.

One example that comes clearly to mind. Melo was getting the defensive rebound, the other team was gone, already running back on defense. So were the rest of the Nuggets. Camby stayed and took it right from him.

There was absolutely no reason for Camby to do that. There was no chance the other team would have gotten it. All that does is piss off team mates and can lead to turnovers that shouldn't happen.

This is one of the reasons I might be in favor of trading Camby is the package is good enough. He seems more concerned about stats. You can even see that with his blocks. At times he will leave a man wide open, to go for the block.

It doesn't matter. If everyone cared about rebounding as much as Camby and went after them the way he does, I wouldn't really mind if it meant a couple more turnovers here or there as a result.....because in the end, our rebounding wouldn't be as mediocre as it is, and the team would be that much better overall.

True, only if Camby did the same to the opponents

That is when Melo needs to punch/kick/bite him back and let the big guy know that this is my board and nobody is going to get it from me.

Yeah, because he is quite the horrible rebounder.....averaging just 14 per game.
