The Lakers would be crazy to risk messing up the current chemistry they have going right now.

i love my nugz wrote:this organization is a JOKE.

So lets keep karl and his 3-16 playoff record, trade away one of the most talented players in the league, and step up philly iverson 2.0, remember that time he got to the finals and won one game, maybe we can win 2 before getting swept! yay! go nuggets.

if melo is gone before karl, i will burn everything nuggets related that i own.

Because Melo has taken the Nuggets so far into the post seasons. :noway: Anyhow, I don't think the Nuggets need to trade Carmelo, I feel like they should give him a few more years to develop as a person and a player...but some of you are just beyond ridiculous with the Iverson hate on here, real talk. Bashing him for what he's done when it is far more then that joke of an organization has ever done. The irony kills me. Im sure if Carmelo leaves... Iverson won't be too far behind. The last thing he wants is to carry another team. Its bad enough he's stuck on this one that is not serious about contending.

Yep, too many people on here ignore the big picture far too often. Post without thought.

The Spurs wouldn't trade Ginobili for Anthony either, although Anthony is a better player.

You think Melo is clearly better than Manu? On what basis?
---

Melo should have decent value since he is so young- but as a general rule you don't get back equal value when you trade away a star (with issues.) In most cases the team wants to rebuild and gets back a prospect, a couple of #1's and an expiring vet. Think back to the AI deal.

At his age Melo is more valuable than AI, but he still won't bring back a star. For example, you would never see Melo traded for someone like Bosh. At best you get an underperforming second level star like Redd- and then where does that put you? Thats why GM's end up settling for Capspace and Picks- at least it puts them in a position to start over instead of being trapped as a good but non-contending team.
