There are reports that Chalmers may go higher than the Nuggets at 20. Phoenix at 15 and Cleveland at 19 like him.

Nicolas Batum and Kosta Koufos are underrated. Those guys are very skilled and talented;they will surprise a lot of you in America.First of all Nicolas Batum is not one of those athletic and stupid French players,he really is special.Perfect fit for Nuggs. If we go big Kosta is best option for sure!

i'd love Chalmers to come here. If he starts or gets significant minutes, then he'd probably be a 9 points, 3 assists guy shooting at around 37% from 3. I don't think we need Batum... we already have him in LK.

obviously if Donte Greene somehow falls to 20, then u've gotta take him despite our depth at the 3, because he's just too good of a talent.

This is what i'm hoping for in order:
Speights
Greene
Chalmers
Rush

I hope those reports are wrong. This site mentioned that Chalmers had a bad workout recently, and some other sites described him as a "fringe first-rounder." I think he's nearly a perfect fit in terms of our needs, so hopefully he falls to us.

On another note, I think I nailed the plea bargain that Melo ended up getting several weeks ago. At least I predicted something accurately this season . . .

Nuggets traded their pick to Charlotte for a future first...

Thus, not having to pay #20 double when including the luxury tax...

Jeez.. what a press release...
http://www.nba.com/nuggets/news/nuggets ... 62508.html
DENVER, June 25 -- The Denver Nuggets have traded their first round draft selection (the 20th overall) in the 2008 NBA Draft to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for a future protected first round draft pick, Nuggets Vice President of Basketball Operations Mark Warkentien announced today.

The Nuggets now currently have no picks in tomorrow’s draft.

Well it is sure to be a better pick than the 20th even if it is protected til god knows when...

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

The future first-round pick is protected by Charlotte in this regard: If
the pick falls in the lottery next draft, it still belongs to Charlotte.
But if Charlotte makes the playoffs, and the pick thus isn't in the
lottery, the pick belongs to Denver.

The following year, if it wasn't used by Denver the previous year, the
pick still belongs to Charlotte if it's 1-12. Following year protections
are 1-10, 1-8 and finally 1-3.

Doesn't sound like it will be of any use for some time, but could be a steal down the road.

Honestly the Bobcats have some nice players...

Richardson, Okafor, Wallace, Felton...

Depending on what they do with #9 and #20, I could see Larry Brown getting them into the playoffs next year.

Still, a pick in the 15-16 range if they make it as the 7th or 8th seed isn't bad.

I think a major reason to do this, is to not have to pay the tax on this pick... After Iverson expires they won't be paying a late pick out of the rotation double.

Return to Denver Nuggets
