1. denver fans would riot
2. ai's going to spend his last couple seasons chasing a championship on contenders

He hasn't made it out of the 1st round in two attempts here, and this team most likely isn't going to get out of the 1st round this coming season, so why did he decide to come back this year?

He still believes they have a chance to win a championship.

what's your reasoning for not wanting him back?if that's the case.

i doubt AI signs for less than 10 million and the mle is probably around 6 million.

Kirk heinrich makes about that much and his ego wont let him take less money than players hes better than. AI has never taken less than the max just to help a team out. I dont see him sacrificing money to play for denver. maybe to end his career in philly, but i dont think he has that type of allegiance to denver.

as for not wanting him back. i think if this season is a bust, he needs to go somewhere that he'll be appreciated. denver is not going to be friendly to AI if this season is a crapshoot. I also think players of AIs caliber should get their shot before they get out so they can clear up any doubts about where they are in the scheme of things. I was happy for GP when he went to Miami. i can see something similar happening to AI if he goes somewhere with a real big man and shooters.

denver could be that if karl and management allowed them too.unfortunately i dont think karl and management are capable of getting the most out of this squad. as evidenced by jr smith playing 19 minutes a game for the season.

imo money has nothing to do with it given the nuggets are in cap hell.imo iverson can prove that he wants to win by filling that pg spot more often and score when needed.he has the skill and ability but lacks the mentality.

AI doesnt pick the position he plays. Karl chose AC as his starting point guard and played AI at the shooting guard.

So its not about mentality, its about coaching in that regard. If the coach thinks AC and AI are a better backcourt than AI and JR, what's AI supposed to do?

as for AI's word, AI also said he'd retire before he became a role player...

If AI could go to Orlando tomorrow, do you really think he'd stay in denver?

points well taken about karl starting who he wants to start at what position.over the yrs iverson has shown to be loyal and honest to a fault.he's never thrown teammates under the bus and he excepts blame and critism better than any player as well as the praise.as far as going to orlando...if both teams offered the same amount of money,my guess is that he'll stay in denver.as you stated to me in another post iverson has an ego that wouldn't allow him to bounce around team to team.i think iverson will finish his career in denver if it's up to him that is.
trust me...i know what the hell i'm talking about!

I noticed that too. He doesnt ever really defend himself. It seems like after the whole practice rant, AI got some PR advice that he should accept whatever heat comes his way without commentary.

I think thats a mistake.

I think SOMEBODY should be pushing back against the negative press he gets. Because it doesnt make sense for a player to give a team 27 points and 7 assists on 45% shooting for 82 games and receive zero praise or appreciation for that. At the very least someone needs to start explaining to some of the fans that shooting guards are not responsible for facilitating the offense, so criticizing AI for looking for his shot doesnt make sense when his primary job is that of shooting guard. The coaches havent really complained about his practice habits nor have we heard to much off the court drama coming from AI. These are things that should be celebrated or at least acknowledged. But i fear that AI represents as convenient scapegoat for the franchise and deflects attention away from mismangement and bad coaching.

That loyalty of AIs got him thrown under a bus in philly and its about to get him under that bus in denver.

But I think he's capable of learning from his mistakes, so i dont see him sticking around in denver like he did in philly once they throw him under the bus. I think he'll bounce if ever feels disrespected by teh franchise and I see that coming if they dont do anything in the playoffs.

Its inevitable. Karls going to have to cover his asz and so will management. So my guess is itll be between AI and JR smith, who they blame things on.

AI needs to play the PG, even if Karl tells him to shoot more. Theres a reason why we have only lost one game or so, when AI gets 10+ assists a game, and that is because he is playing like the AI we Nuggets fans envisioned when he was traded here.

unfortunately we got one of the worst Front Office GM team and head coach in the NBA, so it makes it a bit hard.

AI / JR / Melo / K-Mart / Camby
with the playoff mode Nene coming off the bench.

statlines:
Melo - 28/8 (50% FG)
JR - 18 ppg (48% FG, 42% from 3)
AI - 22 ppg, 8 assists guy.

Anthony Carter - 2 ppg, 1 apg, 15% FG, waived in February, playing in Europe.

Why is Karl telling AI to shoot more? I never got that. When Melo was suspended right after the trade AI was dropping dimes all over the place. I think part of it was AI trying to prove he wasn't selfish. Then after a loss or something Karl says AI needs to score more and has stuck with that theory ever since. I just don't get it.

The team is so much better when AI is dishing and getting those bigs who can't create on their own opportunities. Melo can handle a bunch of the scoring. AI can have a Chris Paul type effect, but it's all in the mentality.

AI should play point guard, period. Between JR & Melo and the dimes AI should be dropping they have plenty of offense without AI jacking up 20 shots per game.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved
