Hard to be the "best" when everyone is hogging the ball too.

Re: Melo Olympic tracker
Melo looks like he isnt nearly as motivated as he was the previous two years in international play esspecially with that 1st unit, I think it would be best to bring him off the bench.

Re: Melo Olympic tracker
Melo looked real active on defense in the first quarter.
It just appears he is no longer part of the offense.

Kleiza played good last night, scored 13 points and hit a 3 pointer with 2 seconds left to seal the deal 79-75.

He played only 17 min and had a team-high 13 points(3/3-3pts,4/4-FT).
"It was not a difficult shot,” Kleiza said.

Re: Melo Olympic tracker
I was watching that game. I dont understand why kleiza doesn't play more minutes. He won the game for them. Carmelo is not hitting his shots early in the game. when that happens wade comes in and its hard for melo to get back in the flow. maybe when they play better teams who zone up more and dont turn the ball over melo will step up.
Thats why Im easy easy like Sunday morning.

Certainly against zone defenses, Melo will be looked at more to hit open shots. I hope he's not thinking "I need to score more" or anything stupid like that. Take what you can get, who really cares how many points you're getting if the team's winning.

yeah unlike some of these melo fans i could care less how many score. Its all about the W. Melo has got to start knockin down his shots again though. He was 0-3 from the field. The past couple of years he rarely missed. We'll see how he plays against Angola. They are terrible. So i look for him to bounce back.

Melo's line against Angola: 4/6 shooting, 1/2 3pts, 3/5 FTs, 6 boards, 1 block, 1 TO, 12 pts. D-Wade steals the show again off the bench putting in 19 on 6/8 shooting and 5/7 from the stripe. As long as he can continue to slash the opposition to death, we won't see Melo tearing it up like he has at the world championships.

Re: Melo Olympic tracker
Melo looked like his usual self offensively today in international play 6-8 16 points 4-6 behind the arc in 16 minutes...hes still settling for that jumper.... 80% of his fg's are coming outside the paint.

good to see Melo focused on other things like defense instead of just scoring.

he was adequate on defense. it was his scoring that was so great. defensively wade continued to be the best player on the floor.

Re: Melo Olympic tracker
Even though they crushed Germany 'Melo had another poor shooting performance. I wasn't able to watch the game, but I'm guessing it's just like when he plays for the Nugs-- If he misses his first few shots he forces it and has a tough time finding his rhythm. You can't do that on a team as talented as this because you don't get enough opportunities to shoot yourself out of the funk.
I wish he'd go to the rim more often.

He had a layup and drove to the rim once, but was stripped of the ball. He seemed to be playing good defense on Dirk though. Shots didn't look that forced, mostly just spot up threes.

Re: Melo Olympic tracker
Melo did a very good job defending Bogut the first half. I think the added physicality really allows Melo to use his strength in the post very well on defense. I think we need to move him to the post more often on defense this year so that he doesn't have to deal with as many wings that are quicker than him.
