Denver Nuggets - 2008 Evaluation.

Post#1 » by Amen316 » Sun Sep 7, 2008 2:33 am

The Denver Nuggets we felt nearly pulled off a Pau Gasol trade with the Clippers making them alot better at once, but when you look closer at the numbers Marcus Camby departure shouldnt affect the Nuggets nearly as bad as one would think. We believe it equates to about 3-4 games over the season. Maybe the biggest problem is going to be who can fill the minutes that Camby is leaving behind?
Could the Nuggets be planning on stepping the scoring and running up even another notch? (Filling those minutes with a different positional player much like the Suns did when they lost both Centers and Boris Diaw who was a point guard for Atlanta played Center for the Suns in the playoffs.) Or, is the Nuggets hoping Hilaro will become the player they have hoped for a couple years.

We have the Nuggets winning 45games next season based on:
AI and Melo playing an average of 75 games and 39min per game. The amount of games won will change if those figures are not met.(simply by the adjusted pct.)
We also used Kenyon Martin as being the third best player on the team.

If Nene is any part of the player in the second half of the 06/07 season (provided he stays fit and healthy), then i'd bank on us to win the division.

our success next season will lie on Nene's status, and what George Karl does.

we could easily be the best team in the league... but we can also easily be the opposite.

nutty,he can't handle the truth.with a healthy nene denver is much better on offense and while camby's weakside blks will be missed, nene is a much better post defender(one on one)if nothing else cause of his massive size, quick hands, footwork, and athletic ability.

the one thing that still worries me about this team is frontcourt depth and 3pt shooting...other than jr and atkins and every now and then klezia are our only 3pt shooters, everyone else are hit and miss.
trust me...i know what the hell i'm talking about!

Hey.. I disagree, maybe he can handle the truth. Oh I got it! I'll make a poll and ask people.. because poll results are facts!

Although if Nene stays healthy, Karl coaches, JR starts, and Atkins is healthy too.. and comes off the bench, I do think this team will be better than last year. Some big ifs, and more 3pt shooters would be nice.

damn how many 3 point shooters do they need. What they need to do is hit 3 pointers when the game is on the line.
Thats why Im easy easy like Sunday morning.

IMO,

Iverson has to play PG and only play 32 minutes a game.
The starting SG should play serious defense.

Smith should play 30 minutes a night off the bench.

The team needs to replace Camby's shot blocking and rebounding.

KMart, Nene, Birdman should play short minutes but all out.

Hunter should never play. Chucky Atkins should be traded for a 2nd round pick.

This should be a competitive team.

Relieve Karl of his job and hire Bill Laimbeer.

we obviously didn't have enough 3pt shooting when you look at the playoff stats 25%.teams will continue to pack the paint on us to limit melo's post ups and iverson's drives to the lane.

your right, guys need to make the ones they get but it wouldn't hurt to have some better shooters.
trust me...i know what the hell i'm talking about!

Return to Denver Nuggets
