with tony parker, deron williams & shaq out, it'd be nice to get this thing clicking quickly and go on a little run to catch up and/or build a lead on those teams.

Parker went down hard and his sprain looked bad, so he will probably be out 2-4 weeks. Josh Smith came down on his when he rolled it and it didn't look nearly as bad as Parker's and it is already being reported that Smith will be out 2-4 weeks.

I never did catch why Shaq was out, but I saw where he didn't play tonight.

Deron's return was just pushed back, but they seem to be doing fine without him. But some of that is because they have been at home except for two games against the Thunder and Clippers. They are about to hit a 5 game East coast swing, so they might come back down to earth a bit.

word....if we can get a streak going into the new year, the second round isn't that far away.....

anyone heard about that guy JR Smith?
apparently he's set to make some noise this season.....

i don't know if it's the gamer in me but when i see a POTENTIAL starting lineup of Billups, Smith, Melo, Martin and Nene...oh my...if they can click...and everyone stays healthy....and makes the extra pass.....wcf isn't that laughable

Lol yes, its laughable. Because of the refs.

Even today, you see Denver took 40 freethrows? You also see Carmelo took 14 freethrows, right? Do you know how bad the refs were against us believe it or not?

Crazy thing is, they're simply against Carmelo every game. I remember last year there was a article about him being the only start to not get any calls. More games like this and Carmelo will be shooting a very low percentage this year.

Just finished watching the game, and it was very entertaining.

- Billups ran the floor well had some good defensive spots. I also think he too way too many shots, let the game come to you. I would have love to see him distribute the ball more, but we got the win so I can't complain. Can't wait until he gets going, we really looked good when we were in sync.

- Melo had a wonderful game which should have been better, missed some easy layups and had some pretty horrible no calls against him, typical. - Nene is a monster just as he as been ALL season long. Scoring at will, and his rebounding was solid had some nice offense boards. We obviously would like to see Nene get some more boards and I agree with the rest of you guys it's very viable for Nene to average 18/10, it seems as if the offense is there, just needs to work on the rebounding.

- Kidd making six, 3-pointers haha that must be a career high, or real close to it. We rotated fairly good most of the time, but for some reason we left the 3-point shooters open the whole night, if it was not for Kidd nailing half their 3-point baskets we would have had a comfortable 10 point win.

- Too much AC and not enough JR, though AC still continues to play fairly good and his production should be much better with less minutes, hopefully. Where is Balkman?

- Only -5 in rebounding that’s not too bad, and only -3 differential in offensive rebounding. Obviously rebounding is something we must work on because it kills us constantly. FTs were perfect 37-40 I wish we could always shoot FTs like that.

Ok it’s late and I’m going to bed.........

Overall this seems like a different team since the trade. It looks as if there is more passing and a little less selfish play, and the effort on the defensive especially be the starters has been great.

Melo looked much better tonight then he did the other night, however he is still a work in progress on his defense, and his passing out of the post. It almost looks to me as if he does not trust the pass out of the post to Billups yet, but I think with time he will begin to once again.

Nene looks like the Nene of the 06-07 end of season run. He has been our best player on both ends through every game. He needs more touches.

KMart is another guy who needs to learn that it is okay to pass, there were several times he took the ball 1 on 3 only to layup a brick. His defense though was very good considering how undersized he is when facing Dirk, and the fact that he was playing with a sprained wrist.

Although it is an unpopular opinion I am okay with bringing JR off the bench, it seems to me that him and Kleiza have a pretty good chemistry and both seem to play better together at the moment. Although I will say that JR deserves to be getting 30 minutes a night, and him not getting it is crazy.

Billups looked bad the 1st half and part of the 4thh quarter, but his defense and leadership were both great, it is amazing how much difference having a guy like him makes, and when the kinks get worked out, it should be amazing.

Someone needs to remind Klieza that he is a hustle player first and a scorer second, so far this season it looks as if he is more concerned with scoring and putting up his stats, as opposed to rebounding the ball, playing defense, and other sacrifices for the team.

Overall we need to focus on rebounding, but I am very excited about this team after watching last night, and seeing the ball movement, and teamwork, that has been missing so much over the last couple of years.

In a few more games when everyone is comfortable playing with Mr. Big Shot we should be working together much better as a team. I think we will be a lot more fun to watch once everyone gets used to playing together.

GK made a pretty valid point in his press conference after the game last night. He said that we have several guys that are learning there new roles and additional minutes. He said we traded a 40 minute a night guy (AI), a 35 minute a night guy (Camby) and replaced them with guys who are not yet accustomed to playing in those kind of minutes. Although I think Nene has looked great in Camby's old slot. He also said we had a guy out of the league (The Birdman) who is still working his way back to his old form. One other thing he did do, was say that last years bench was probably a bit deeper because of all of the little things that Najera did for us, which I can't argue with.

All in all, I am very excited with the way the lineup is starting to come together. I figure a few more games like last nights and then we will get things clicking on all cylinders as a team.

Mr Big Shot hasn't hit a big shot in a few years now. Can we lay off the name?

Rebel, its only one game, there wasn't much different since the trade.

I was #1 maybe #2 to Rebel as far as wanting A.I. to gtfo, but can we please not overrate our team and specifically Billups right away, especially after he just played horrible on both ends last night (until the end).

I thought Chaunce didn't have a great game by any means, but fit in pretty well. I fully expect to see an increase in his assist numbers as he gets more comfortable in the offense. Melo getting doubled in the post and kicking to Billups for 3 should be a routine they get into.

we went from a lot of turnovers in the first 4 games (average 17.5) to 11 against dallas. that's a huge difference.

its difficult to overrate billups. if anything he's underrated. one mediocre night on the first night he played with this team doesn't mean we should not be psyched on him or what we picture this team accomplishing with a great point guard.

statistically, billups is a better player than iverson....and the differences are so drastic its hardly even an argument.

i think i'll make a thread on this later tonight. look for some analysis there.

Look at the sports world

In football, the AFC is wack. So opened up for someone to take top spot

Here in basketball, the West is so opened up for someone to take it

Every single team in the West has a weakness. Yes I said EVERY, including those Lakers

We could really be undefeated right now if it wasn't for Karl. There is no clear favorite to win it all

Statistically, there IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT BILLUPS IS BETTER THAN CARMELO!

However, I agree that he'll be a better fit with us.
