Re: Denver @ Charlotte : Game 7
Always nice to get a win - especially against a team that seems to always steal one from us every year. I missed the first half (damn you, east coast!), but was pleased with what I saw in the second half. The Cleveland game will be a nice test for us, then I full expect a loss @ Boston the following night. I'm happy with a split on those two games.

Corona...
#4:If you watch Billups, when he holds the ball all day, HE'S USUALLY THE ONE SHOOTING. Not anyone else and noone is being setup on those plays.
#6. I don't care what Billups accomplised, thats all irrelevent right now. We're talking about this season. I want Carmelo with the ball in his hands with the game on the line. Thats the bottomline. No ifs ands, or buts. If the game is on the line, I want my superstar with the ball in his hands. In case you didn't notice, the reason for the Pistons failures has alot to do with Billups. When they need a shot, he stands on the perimeter, pounding the ball, and then hoist up a jumper. THAT DOESN'T FLY HERE, especially when you have Carmelo who can get to the hoop and also has ONE, if not the best midrange jumpers in the game.
I'm sorry, Billups did alot in his career, but its been a while since he hit a "big shot" and I definitely don't want this team to perform how the Pistons have been performing in the 4th quarter with the stagnant offense and jumper, after jumper, after jumper.

Psht, Tivo. I can get anything video-wise I need online - and I can watch that replay if I really want to. Not to mention, Rebel's aunts don't like it when I'm watching basketball. (Aunts, not mom. I'm starting a thing here.)

I did not know you had a thing for overweight 60 year old women (although with you being an office fan I should have known there was considerably more wrong with you), but I guess they need some loving too, tell my aunt Joan I won't be making it for thanksgiving by the way.

Probably for the best, it would be a little awkward.

6.THIS IS CARMELO'S TEAM! When he's hot, I want him to have the ball. Ok, Ilike Nene, I like this team, but don't take the ball out of his hands, especially when he's hot. I'm sick of Carmelo calling for the ball and not getting it, especially WHEN JARED **** DUDLEY IS ON HIM!
7. I love how he gathers the team during a freethrow or a deadball and tell them what to do or need to do. That shows great leadership.
Billups does control the tempo. No matter how many mistakes the team keeps making (himself included) he is able to reign it back in and not let it get out of control. Boring, but very effective.
His perim d makes a huge difference and doesn't allow opponents to ge back into it easily.
AC can't be the only shooting star. JR and Kleiza have to step it up more and more to take pressure off AC to force shots.
Billups holds the ball for one main reason: no Nugget has really been moving without the ball. Why do you think we saw Balkman the recipient of so many good passes last night? He moves w/out the ball. As soon as the team figures out to get a pass they need to create space, they will begin creating more and more space and Billups will get the rock where it needs to go.
The pull-up 3's will be more of a relief than a horror once everyone else starts making shots. He's a rhythm guy and once his shot becomes the "dagger" and not the brick we won't be getting enough of it. Get JR in a rhythm, Billups will follow. His PG duties fulfilled, his shots will be better.
Carmelo's building up a head of steam also. We see glimpses of some pretty brilliant plays. Once he sees what he can do we will see his persistence kick in and the ball in his hands more. By the by Billups is not going to go automatically to Melo every single time, even if he is the best scorer on the floor. Makes defense for the other team too easy if they know to double Carmelo every play.
Billups is talking to the team, so yeah we are going to see improvements constantly. We always said this team has the talent. Now we're watching it wake up to a colder, harder reality with Billups controlling the rock.
88-80 Nuggets win....wait....that sounds like the Pistons beat the Nuggets.....ha ha...whoo
put the ball in the basket like this
