I am still lurking around (so there are still some fans around) and now it is time to talk about this new Nuggets team. Billups is what this team has needed for a long time. With Andre Miller you got some defense and good ball movement with poor shooting. With AI you got good penetration and offense with poor defense. With Billups you get the complete package; an all star point guard who can guard, dish and shoot.

Nene is the real deal; just like most of us thought for years. Anthony can play defense. Kmart is a quality power forward.

It is also time to challenge those fans who think Karl can’t coach. With this new team chemistry, Karl is showing what he can do with the right pieces.

Look for the Nuggets to contend (unless injury takes down a key player). .
Canned in Denver.

Good win. Defense was there all night long.
Where is that **** from ESPN who said Nuggets are going to have poorest defense in the NBA because Camby and Najera left ?

Your Nuggets are such a different team now that Chauncey is running that offense. I gotta admit I thought the Nuggets would struggle for a playoff spot this season. It seems like something was off in the chemistry of the team, now Chauncey has infused new energy into how the Nuggets play now.

Gotta admit our games with you guys will be much different now, in the past we knew AI would get his and so would Melo but never seemed like they tried to help each other. It was like ok AI shoots next shot Melo shoots. Friday will be a tough game for us, traditionally Billups has played well against us so it's not a surprise if he does it again.

Damn and just like that the Nuggets are in a tie for 1st in the Northwest Div. Things just got tougher in the West................see y'all Friday !

Definitely looking forward to the Lakers game now... we're a much smarter and more efficient team with Billups now.

Not only that, by being smarter and more efficient, it means utilizing the most of our talent. We've been one of the most talented club for years, but it's for the first time it's fully displayed because we're now playing within a system... no more streetball, and the rest of the L have to recognize us like it or not.

Good win against a team that's playing without their two stars but we did what we had to do and blew them out.

I like the way billups is playing the last few games, not forcing too many dumb shots. Melo had a good all around game and kenyon and nene were great in the inside and they held duncan back too so good work big fellas.

Were rolling and i hope we continue to do so.

Great Game, for me, Melo has to stop to force those one vs one or bad shots, pass the ball, Kennyon played solid D, Chauncey has been awsome, he is playing more PG then SG, Nene as usual great, he is in much need for more touches, all bench players provide energy and kept the lead, Denver´s looking like a basketball team more and more!

DENVER 08/09 > ENVER 07/08

Nene(you can ask Bogut and Duncan about it) > Camby
Balkman > Najera
Melo/JR(08/09) > Melo/JR(07/08)
Billups > Iverson
+Andersen and Jones

:reporter:

I dont know about you guys but I am very excited about our team!
And Karl,I want to see Balkman spending some time on Kobe!

Maybe this should have been brought up in another topic, but I noticed that the nuggets haven't worn their dark blue jerseys yet this year....are they not using them anymore or have they just not worn them yet period?

I think the Nugs wore their alternate blue jerseys when they played the clippers for their second game of the year.

Those jerseys are the sh** for suresies...

Revenge is a dish best served cold, and Friday's forecast in LA calls for flurries and a high in the thirties...(actually not really)...but we need to whoop some laker a**.

And whoever suggested that Balkman guard Kobe had their thinking cap on. They say Ruben Patterson is the Kobe Killer, or whatever, but I bet Renaldo and each fiber of his magnificent dreads would be more effective on #24.

Yea, I'm still here, I'm just still in disbelief with the effectiveness of this trade on this team. I mean, chauncey has turned this team around 360 degrees (ha), our defense and composure has been amazing. In the game against the Twolves, they were scoring at will, we had to stop them, and we did and pulled out a great win that would have been a major letdown if we lost.

I'm just surprised that everything I have been thinking and a lot of non-AI fans have been saying is coming true. This team now plays defense, ball movement has improved, nene and kmart are holding down the interior better than camby could ever dream, george karl is actually coaching (he still does dumb ****, but he at least is coaching with energy, he even stands up during games now), balkman is proving to be the great pickup many of us thought he could be, birdman brought back some good memories, played hard, and his injury gave balkman time to show what he can do. And getting Chauncey back in denver has been great, he is showing melo how to be a leader and melo is proving that he can be, melos passing and defense has improved (i just waiting on him to get out of this slump) and even his comments and interviews have been better like in the celtics game. he said we need to win this game playing defense as a team in the second half, and they did, revenging one of our most embrassing losses last year.

Its really been too good to be true but we have not been tested enough to know if we are legit. Our offense has been struggling but lucky our defense is making up for it (i cant believe i just said that about the nuggets). The game against the Lakers is a HUGE test. I dont think we have to win to prove anything because obviously the lakers are going to be favored at home and they have played a whole season together already. We need to avoid any big runs and break up their showboating plays. When we lost last year, it was always embarrassing, this year a loss can still be competitive. I think we can win, but Melo is going to need to shot better than 40%.

And how great would it be for the nuggets and the pistons to both beat the lakers at home?

I have a bad feeling aboput tomorrow's game. I just don't know if the nuggets can beat lakers at home. But i'll be praying and watching! GO NUGGETS!! need melo to shoot above 40%!! and enough settling for jumpshots! he's gotta drive more!! Man i hope we can win this one!

Melo took 15 shots. He had 7 assists, and is the #1 scoring option, he didnt shoot too much. He is just missing shots right now- like he does the beginning of every season.

21/9/7. That is a good game no matter how you cut it.
