Easily one of the coolest Nuggets moments I've ever witnessed. Now I know why old timers loved Fat Lever, David Thompson, and Alex English so much. We all knew 'Melo was capable of something like this, but to actually see it is amazing.

And I completely agree with you MelosMileHigh... Chauncey was practically dragging Melo up the court later in the game trying to get him more shots. Have we put it to bed that AI is what held this team back?

that went from the worst game i've seen from a while from the Nuggs (the first half was atrocious) to one of the best games i've ever seen.

The Wolves have the ability to do that to any opponent. They just can close out and forget that they are playing basketball in the second half.

Too bad the game isn't 24 minutes. We would be a .500 team! Ha.

I really though the game was over after the first half. Too bad I had to sleep...
I love players like Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony and Tracy McGrady. Why? Just because I love basketball. Even if you don't have one in your team, you should love them, too. ;)

I think the combo of the pressure the arm band puts on and then taking it off might have helped a little bit. Also the whole selfless thing can be a huge pressure when you don't have someone also to be selfless alongside you. Chauncey just pushed him on and probably said something like, "Hey, be selfish this one time. This'll be good." I'll tell you what though, Melo is a truly special talent it just takes somebody to recognize it and put it on display.

Huh, did he? **** if I remember. :P

I Agree with everyone who said how great it was to see Chauncey continue to feed Melo the ball while he was so hot. I remember a couple times when AC ignored Melo and passed the ball over to Chauncey on the opposite side, who immediately swung it right back to AC or right over his head to Melo. AI never did that, in fact he did the opposite. He always seemed to go away from the hot hand, unless it was his of course.

Indeed he did. It was actually 25, but still pretty ridiculous.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=280324029

"J.R. Smith led the Nuggets, scoring 25 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter, as Denver stretched the lead to as many as 22 in winning its third straight. Smith was 8-of-10 in the period, including seven outside the arc."

That's the kind of thing J.R. can do. If he gets hot like that, with his range, dropping 7 threes in a quarter is nothing. Melo's performance was something completely else though.

when i saw "petbull" in the "most recent post" thing...i knew it would be something along the lines of "don't forget to keep nene involved" or "but he can't forget to pass"

We can only imagine if Chauncey could get Melo and JR going in the same quarter/half, then we'd have a 50-60 pt explosion! There are a few ways to do it. Thing is not to piss off Karl because he'll pull JR in a nanosecond.

I watched that 3rd quarter twice and im still amazed on how he did it, Melo was playing within the team concept and didn't force anything and to me that's what amazing about what he did.

Carter really buged me just for the fact that he was ignoring the hot hand and chauncey really impressed me by giving melo the ball any chance he gets and telling him to keep shooting.
