The biggest change that should take place, should be a coach/system change. When was the last time a fast break with so-so D won it all? The last fast break team to win it from memory, was the showtime Lakers, and its not exactly like they were a poor defensive team.

Its also not just the defensive aspect that hampers them, from what I've been able to see, the Nuggets are vulnerable when slowed down to a halfcourt game, and have been for a while. They show signs of getting better, and players like Melo, Billups and Nene can all create, but half of the time I saw a massive lack of ball movement.

Correct me if I'm wrong but those are just a few observations I've seen while watching the Nuggets play.

p.s. its good to be back after a year or so hiatus

EDIT: whoops just realised what my sig was hahaha better change it

After looking at things I think the 2nd biggest need we have is a couple of guys off the bench that can actually put the ball in the basket.

Maybe we could go against the Nuggets Norm and use a draft pick to get one of them. Oh yeah, whoever we pick won't play, so scratch that idea.

OR.....We could lock Kleiza up with the full MLE, give Dahntay Jones the LLE and lock him up long term, and resign AC. Character guys are hard to find in this league

OR just fire the dud coaching this team and move on already.

Character guys like Rocky. "Best Mascot in the league" - Charles Barkley

Hard to find. Even Rocky has a better half court % than kleiza's 3 % lately

Does anyone really see the Nuggs as a up tempo team anymore? They don't run much at all even when the opportunity is there.... just my thoughts...

I think you should find a way to keep Birdman
You have to get back-up 4/5 that can score
have to get an upgrade in the back-up pg/combo guard role

If they decide to be buyers instead of sellers, the Nuggets could be a top 4 team easily next year with the right moves.

Ok...common ground is good...but if they don't use the TPE...they can only do 2 of the 3 things I mentioned (pay Bird and MLE for either the 4/5 or the pg/combo guard). With the economy, you could get a very good player just for a salary dump (ie Nuggets and Camby). I fully believe if they use the TPE and maybe even their smaller TPE 2.7?? they could be a top 4 team. As much as K-mart has been awesome, the guy is injury proned and if we go into the season the same way next year... I can't see us getting as lucky as we have this year... that's why I was begging to use the TPE at the trade deadline... maybe if we could have gotten someone we wouldn't have gone 3-8.

I understand being financially sound, but I just see an opportunity of greatness for next year. The best part about it... if it works great we could be Champs...if not it's 2010 and all the Hot FA's are on the market...well, not everyone is going to get them...so you can make trades to reduce your salary.

^^^ See this is why I wish we still had our 1st round pick. This draft while not the deepest does have some very good pg depth in it, and one of the big named guys most likely would have slipped down to where we were going to pick in the 1st. I am not sure if they will last until the 5th pick of the second round.

I've had a few more ideas.

S&T Linas Kleiza, Steven Hunter for S&T with Josh Childress

Send Camby Trade Exception plus future first for Rasheed Wallace

Send (2) second round draft picks to Orlando for the rights to Fran Vazquez. Attempt to work a buyout over the summer (and the following if nec.) to bring Vazquez to Denver.

Re-sign THE BIRDMAN

Anthony Parker would still be a decent role player for us with the MLE. But McCants would be an option I like too. Younger guy. Firepower and a jumper off the bench.

Don't believe you can combine S&T'ed players with another, and why on earth would the Hawks want LK? He's been playing horrible.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can't do S&T's with European teams(Childress). And even then, why would anyone give up something of value for Kleiza and Hunter? We can't get anything for either of them.

I dont know if you can do multi player deals in S&Ts (where I got my information it didn't mention anything to suggest you couldn't). But I do know that Childress can get out of his contract (and he is still not happy with the Hawks) each summer. If Childress wants to get back into the NBA this summer he becomes a RFA of the atlanta hawks.

First and foremost, we need a coaching change. Second the team needs a defensive coach who won't take **** from anyone on this team and won't play favorite over more deserving player(jr and balkman are great examples).

I hope the team draft a pg or trade for one that is stiill young so he can be chauncey succesor when billups hang it up. Use the trade exception and get an impact player next season, with a couple of minor changes to the roster and a big impact player with the TPE, i really like our chances for next season, we could be great.

Why do we want to improve the roster? Get a coach that actually coaches? Win more games? Go deep in the playoffs?

Childress would be a nice fit for the Nuggets next season.
