^His game remains the same. He's always been capable of what he's doing this season.

There's no added aspect of game that he added during the off-season. But is he better? Yes. Why? He's more confident, more mature, and Karl trusts him more to play him more.

Only the dumb Nugget fans wanted him traded. There weren't many of them, either.

You can't be serious. Jr has always been confident, thats why he's been labeled as a streaky chucker with a terrible shot selection. His game is far more well-rounded and consistent now, pretty much across the board. If you don't see it, you're obviously not watching the games.

corona should just ban you for trolling. Seriously. Only a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) would believe this. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, so that means you're a troll.

JR's defense is better. He has had a mid range game this year. He has improved his passing. Yet, nothing improved? The player who was already over confident, is only better because he is even more confident now?

Seriously. Stop trolling. No one can be this stupid.

It does make you look back and remember how Nene had one of the worst contracts in the league according to many, Denver was desperate to ship him off in the AI deal, etc.

I said then, that if this guy could be healthy, he would be huge for us. He's exploiting Dampier's general crappiness wonderfully so far this series. Even if he doesn't perform the way you want him to every game (same can be said for anybody), the fact is trading him doesn't improve the team unless you get somebody that can provide the unique skill set that he provides.

maturity and decision making are aspects of basketball.

would jr of last year have passed up a open 3 with 4 seconds on the clock to get kleiza a dunk?

he sees the floor better now. he sees lanes and plays develop before they open up. he has a better midrange game. hes better at getting to the paint and drawing fouls. defensively far better. rebounding much better.

its night and day.

you're just sticking to your guns because you're not man enough to say "i was wrong"

No what I said is "game" not mental.

Ben Gordon has always been confident since he was a rookie, but did he add any to his game? His game remains the same from his bloody rookie season to now.

Adding something to your game is if in the case of J.R. is if he adds a Kobe Bryant turnaround jumper off a post move, adding a few shake and bake moves inside the three pt territory to create shots, adding a head fake and turnaround shot, etc.

These are just examples, I don't see why this is considered trolling because I don't hate J.R. just stating my opinion of what I think, that he has not improved his game.

Are his numbers improved? Yes, why because GK plays him more. Why does he play J.R. more? Because he plays with confidence and backs up that confidence with good decisions. Someone here said J.R. has been confident, yes, but he did not back up that confidence with results, that's why when he jacked up bad shots in the past (bad result) he's yanked to the bench. Now if he jacks up a bad shot, Karl would have a terror look in his face, but he still lets him play because J.R. has proven he matures and now makes good decisions.

Are these in anyway adding to his game? No, you wise up, you mature, become from a non-productive player to a productive one. But if all you can do is hit a 15 footer, and now still only be able to hit 15 footer, then your game does not really improve.

Don't take this the negative way. By saying this, I'm not trying to destructively criticize J.R. but hope he can add some new elements to his game.

You mentioned passing, but J.R. has always had that... it's just his willingness. J.R. dropped 37 pts on Bulls in his few first game as a Nugget, I'd always remember that, he's always had this explosiveness.

they don't have to be kobe bryant or jordan level moves to be new.
and you dont need to add a specific skill to improve every aspect of the game on a basketball court....which is also what jrs done. and its not only mental. they've talked about how he has a shooting routine now, how hes worked on his short game...etc.

regardless....
he added the 'fake and rake' this year. seeing when a defender has his arm on your body...and then swinging your shooting hand through the arm to create contact. he never once did that before this year....and then he did it a good half dozen times. thats a specific skill that he learned and implemented.

sure, he had the simple ability before to do all those things....but he also has the ability to do everything imaginable on the basketball court because of his co-ordination and athleticism. so even if he comes back next year with a post game and a spinning jumpshot you can still win the argument in your mind because he was always capable, he had just matured into doing it.

It is nice to see Nene playing up to his potential these last few games, it makes it all the more sweet how much crap the nuggets have gotten throughout the years since they signed him to that deal. Not to mention some of us fans, who actually defended the deal and nene throughout those years.
