On the wiretap. I don't know, it's one of those things where you got to appreciate the noise you are getting, but like Kenyon said, be ready to grind it out. He says they were playing to the crowd and trying to get noise off of big threes.

Man, you gonna get noise if you win the damn game. Just play right and let the fans rejoice with you. Nothing gonna lower the noise any more than 19 missed threes.

I think that's just our game. Chauncey and JR make those threes a lot of the time, and that's been huge in the playoffs. K-Mart was the guy throwing behind the back passes. That's a lot more playing to the crowd to me.

I think Kmart loves playing to the crowd. He obviously doesn't show it like JR in terms of expression.

The behind the back.....well, the passing lane was wide open on his backside, so it's really not that bad of a decision as long as he executes. Hit it and it is a crowd pleaser.....how could it not be?

Kenyon obviously is going to get the crowd going with defense, intensity, dunks. Thing is, JR's game is both inside and out, and when JR leaves the inside out he becomes one-dimensional and if he misses those threes instead of changing up a little sometimes he gets tunnel vision.

The only thing about K's comments is leaving out the fact that the crowd is intuitively tied to success or failure of whichever team they are rooting for. If they hit 10 threes in a row, of course they are going to get loud and crazy. If they hit 10 dunks in a row the crowd will also go crazy.

I don't think he meant they were only playing to the crowd, at the expense of trying to win. It's just that when you do get a good homecourt crowd going like you guys have, it feels like they have an impact on the game. So you play to the crowd a bit, to try to give your team that extra little boost. The home players feed off the energy and get more lift, and the visiting team often tightens up a little and gets phazed by all the noise. Maybe not Kobe, but other players for sure.

The right 30-second sequence in conditions like that, and a close game suddenly becomes 14 and the game is over. Ironically, that's what basically happened in Game 4. You just can't force those things to happen though.
