Take last year's playoffs against the Lakers, which benefits Boozer the most because he played his best basketball of the season during the playoffs for the Jazz last year. In that series, Boozer had some great numbers where he averaged 20.6 points and 13.2 rebounds per game. His counterpart Lamar Odom averaged 19.6 points and 11 rebounds per game. A slight advantage goes to Boozer from looking at these numbers.

Kmart averaged 10.8 points per game and pulled down 7.1 boards per game in the series against the Lakers, his counterpart Lamar Odom averaged 11.5 points per game and grabbed 9 boards per game.

Just going by the stats it clearly looks like Boozer had the advantage, but if you look inside the numbers a little more you will see that Odom shot 62.7% from the floor against Boozer and the Jazz and against the Nuggets Odom shot 42.8% from the floor.

I know that Boozer and Kmart were not always matched up against Odom and that they were sometimes matched up against Gasol, who had about the same stats in both series. Gasol averaged 18.4 pts and 9 boards against the Jazz, and he averaged 17.5 pts and 12 boards a night against the Nuggets.

After looking into this, I would still take the guy who keeps his opponent to 42.8% from the floor over the guy who let his opponent score at will against him.

We do need more depth in our frontcort but Boozer/Brand players would be impossible to get without giving up a piece that got us too the WCF. Brand's contract is terrible, and Boozer would not be a great fit for the Nugs. I would like us to get a Troy Murphy type player who could hit the three and spread the court and he isn't nearly as expensive.

You keep saying we need another big at the 4/5 spot but at least provide a option that is viable or not some deal that would totally ruin the chemisty we have already.
