Actually, bringing in any new player during the season who isn't a star means they most likely won't get playing time, because Karl won't feel "comfortable" playing them.

One thing is for sure, he'll either have to have gone to UNC, played for Karl before, and/or be white with minimal tattoos.

Jeff Foster would qualify, I believe.

Jeff Foster would be an amazing get... but his contract will keep him away.

Too bad Indy didn't take the deal of the TE + Bobcats pick (Lawson) for Foster last season. Would have been a win for both teams (yes I believe the Nuggets would win the 'ship had we used Foster against LA)

How abt something like this?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=ylj9e9t

Nuggets get Foster to help beat LA
Pacers get out of Foster's contract earlier
Hornets shred $2.1M off the luxury tax

Am I the only one who doesn't want Jeff Foster? He's overrated... a taller and longer version of Eduardo Najera, at $6 mil? Do not want.

We want a big who plays true big man defense not matador/ "hustle" defense. A positional defense... but if Foster can break Kobe's hand like he did to Melo I'd welcome him 8-) jk

The biggest problem against LA last year was starting SG and backup PG. Backup PG especially, and Foster wouldn't have solved either of those problems. I'd say Ty is the better improvement against the Lakers, vastly better than AC and he is the type of PG they can't defend against.

Big AL was just offered for Danny Granger. Would the NUGS be interested in a deal surronding JR and NENE??? that would bring in Al and Gomes? I'm not to big on giving up NENE but who else would work? Thoughts?

Thank you for confirming that Jeff Foster is in fact the perfect big for us. The exact opposite of whatever you say is always true.

from the wiretap
The Nuggets were very close to acquiring a big man last week, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

The deal, which Berger reports was discussed at high levels within the organization, was more than just a minor deal, according to sources.

anyone have info on who it was we were chasing?

Just so that I can get an idea of what you're talking about....could you describe the type of player that you think Eduardo Najera is?

Defensively, they're very similar, with the exception of their physiques, Foster is taller and longer... perhaps slightly more physical than Najera. They're both scrappy, physical, take-a-charge, making-the-most-out-of-least type of players.

Offensively, Najera is more versatile being able to knock down long jumpers.

I don't want bigs who play scrappy... Marcus Camby defense, etc... I don't want pesky defense... I want true big man who plays true big man defense. Picture Kendrick Perkins, Brendan Haywood. Someone who is rock granite solid. Someone who is immovable when someone mean like Shaq, Bynum, or Gasol tries to post them. Not matador defense.

^Picture Bynum, Gasol backing down Foster... he's like Camby/ Najera who will get pushed around by someone big, skilled, or physical.

But imagine Bynum, Gasol trying to back down Kendrick Perkins especially Gasol  that's like flies trying to hurt us. Perkins wouldn't feel a thing he's cold blooded, never smile jerk that we need for this team...

Okay....that is somewhat valid when it comes to describing Foster and what you are looking for in a Center. I can tell you that Foster isn't the same type of Big Man like Perkins or Haywood....specifically beefy and wide Big Men that doesn't get pushed around inside the paint.....but he's not a tall lanky Big Man like Camby either that does not the necessary pounds to hold his ground.

I"m not an expert when it comes to what the Nuggets are looking for in a Big Man...other then having a need to throw quality Big Men against Teams like the Lakers, Magic and Cavs....so
if you think that Haywood is your man....then the Nuggets should get him.
