Mark Kizla is a columnist who hardly follows the Nuggets. Last week he was saying Melo shouldn't sign an extention to gain more power over the Nuggets, while completely negating the main reason Melo is going to want to sign the extention, the impending CBA negotiations. I doubt Kizla even knows about that. This is stupid.

Oh and as for Murphy over Nene, no chance Murphy would start over Nene because Nene is too puss, have you seen Murphy play defense?

Murphy's own mom has not seen him play defense, how would a Denver fan see it.

He plays defense as well as Nene did against the Jazz in the playoffs.

Murphy in the line up with Melo is what you want. Melo would finally have more room to operate. Nene's jumper isn't good enough to open the paint. You'd have Okafor and Nene clogging things up.

This actually makes a lot of sense. Looking at it from a future persective we have KMart, Melo and JR expiring this year with Billups and Nene the following. Come 2012 we will be the equiavlent of the 2010 Miami heat - a team completely devoid of almost all contracts.

What happens with Melo completely determines the outcome of the team.

If Melo leaves:
Denver will probably let Kenyon, JR, and Nene walk. Trade billups for picks + young talent. I assume denver would try and position themselves so they have 4+ 1st between 2011 and 2012. Have 30+M in cap room for the 2012 free agency.

If Melo stays:
We will keep billups for as long as he is competitive and try and use our expirings to increase talent.

Given that this decision will be extremely critical to the direction of the franchise, I completely understand why Denver is trying to pressure him to make an early commitment.

As a Raptors fan who has watched Bosh leave, I wish our FO would have made the same presentation to Bosh last August. We should have said to him, we traded for Jermaine O'Neal for you, we got Hedo Turkoglu for you, we have shown we are serious about adding players to compliment you, even if it hasn't always worked out. Now it's your turn, sign an extension or we start looking for a trading partner.

Who knows, Raptors might have Bynum from LA, or some other quality young player for Bosh. With so many teams having Traded Player Exemptions this year, is it really worth much?
