Rex and Wark both gone
It says the Nuggets announced today these guys wouldn't be extended into next year. Listed 2 possible replacements as guys who were formerly with the Nuggs (one with Toronto now, the other with Washington). I liked what these guys did, but it was starting to get tricky when you don't really have 1 main guy who is the official GM. Maybe the new guy will be able to do something with KMart's contract to get us a legit center!

Strange decision
I thought the power struggle was between both of them, so they fire both?

It was more of a 3 to 4 way power struggle that has been going on for some time in the Nuggets front office. Warren LeGarie, the agent for Wark, was always at odds with Brett Bearup, who is one of Stan Kronke's closest friends, and has a significant amount of power with how the front office was assembled. Chapman also had a rocky relationship with Wark and Bearup at times, and it was a forgone conclusion that he wouldn't be returning to the Nuggets front office. The wheels have been in motion on Wark and Chapman moving on since the beginning of May.

I knew it was coming but still a little surprised. Bearup seems to be the real power behind most of their moves anyways, so as long as he sticks around and has some say I think they will be just fine. Kevin Pritchard would be an interesting candidate to help us out in the draft as he did with Portland.

I'd love to be wrong but I don't see any way that Pritchard comes to Denver. Warren LeGarie represents Prtichard, so I don't see either side wanting a situation where there is immediate tension in the front office. Especially when tension between LeGarie and the Vulcan Corp were partially responsible for KP being out in Portland.

Yeah, I doubt Prichard and Bearup would be able to work together.
I did like the idea of a team of 3 GMs though... it basically stopped them from making any really really stupid moves.

I want Ferry or Pritchard to replace Wark and Chap... I didn't like Chap at all, but loved Wark and am sad to see him go... I hope I'm wrong but, I get the feeling Stan cheaps out and gets some cheap unknown replacement, but jeez I hope it doesn't happen

Like most of you have said already, I would love for us to get prichard but the clash in ego's or in personalities would not be something you want in your FO.
Via the WT it says Ujiri or Sheppard are the top canidates for GM job. I don't know too much about either of the guys, anyone have any useful info on them?

they're both former Nuggets employees who apparently Kroenke really loves... I know Ujiri is supposedly great at seeing overseas talent (prob why Toronto got him), but he's def. not my first choice... Stan tried to sign both of them after Kiki left, I think it was to get Chapman's job... I'd keep my eye on David Griffin who has been mentioned as a canidate, from what I've researched about him, he sounds like a younger version of Warkentein...

Griffin and Sheppard are both guys who started in the communications side and worked their way over to basketball operations. Griffin turned down the Memphis Grizzlies job that Chris Wallace ended up accepting, and has been widely respected around the league for a long time. He's credited with Goran Dragic among a few other very good moves in Phoenix.
Sheppard is the same way, a high respected guy in NBA circles who finished as the runner up to Presti for the Oklahoma City job a few years ago. Very smart thinker who does a lot of the salary cap work for the Wizards.
