I don't like it b/c it proves how cheap this franchise has become. Also now our FO consists of a bunch of young guys with no experience. I hope Ujiri becomes the next Presti... just doesn't seem likely.... why wouldn't we get someone from a good organization like SA or LA or OKC

Ujiri is just as proven as griffin. And Ujiri has spent 7 years, including as head of scouting with the Nuggets. he is a good choice, and may end up as just as good as Griffin. Although it really does not matter, he is just there to deal with the Media and answer the phone, Bearup and Josh Kroenke are still in charge as they have been for years.

Bearup has been in charge and will continue to be. They would be dumb to pay a lot for someone who isn't actually going to have the same power as a normal GM. I do wonder what Bearup is making for not having an official position. Josh also has been groomed to take far more power and he probably will. Crazy to see a 30 year old with that much power in a pro sports team, but I doubt we will see too many crazy decisions by him seeing as how active he already has been in the organization. I think taking the initiative and talking to Carmelo himself was a good start.

If they're able to work out a decent trade involving JR and K-Mart, and re-sign Carmelo, he'll be executive of the year, whether he has anything to do with it or not.

So then he can parlay that into his next GM gig, which will presumably have more power. Everybody wins!

Good read. Seems like a good choice.

It's funny how the realgm wire tap shows a pic of Carmelo when you click on the announcement of Ujiri as the new GM. Is that the first order of business? Trade or resign CA.

Just a yes man. The Denver GM position is nothing more than a name. The guy will take all the credit if things go bad, and will have to share credit if things go bad.
