Jr Smith

Post#1 » by Compton_Killa10 » Fri Sep 17, 2010 12:10 am

I hear JR is on the block but my question is if Melo leaves why not keep JR.
With Melo gone JR can become the vocal point of the offense and I believe could average 25ppg and lead the league in 3 point makes. He is a future all star and I don't think you guys should give him away so easily

owner/front office/coach are apparently tired of his antics and that he still hasn't matured. though i do think if melo is traded now, it would be good to give jr more offensive freedom early in the season and then trade him when he sparks some more interest.

I think JR impedes Ty's development. If Melo is traded, we will likely have a few talented young players, who I do not wish to be tainted by JR. I think he should be gone as soon as we find a suitor.

JR's value is pretty low currently, so it makes no sense to try and trade him if Melo is leaving. Let JR get 35+ minutes playing at the 3 spot and allow him to take 15+ shots a game. I could easily see him averaging 20-25 ppg. Thats when we should trade him.

If melo leaves, we are mostly likely tanking. Why not try and maximize the trade assests we currently have.

What's the point of giving JR 15+ shots? Even if he was able to shoot at a decent percentage, do you expect him to look like Kobe and make teams magically forget that he's a **** idiot? He's a cancer. If any team is willing to take him, we should trade him immediately.

The sense of humor on this board is off the charts.

I agree. J.R. delays Lawson's improvement and we should trade him once the opportunity arrives, even if the trade is lopsided.

Also, any updates on Coby Karl? I loved watching him and Ty run the backcourt and would be thrilled if he were to make the team.

Let him play like mad. Trade him by the deadline.

Wondering what you guys would think about sending JR to the Kings for one of their surplus bigs like Landry or Thompson? Someone is gonna lose minutes in their big man rotation, and they could use a wing to compliment Tyreke. Thoughts? Well..I am a ballboy so probably not :/

I would do it today for thompson, but do not post this on the Kings board as they will probably lose it on you.

I just want to know what the "vocal point of the offense" is?

Funny - people said the same thing about Rasheed Wallace when Portland tried to trade him. Hell - we rejected a Kleiza for Artest trade with the Kings in 08 because Artest was a idiot and cancer.

JR has talent and is still young. The NBA is a league of short term memories. A player can go from scrub to star to cancer all in one season. Give JR a shot, boost his value, and trade him. Right now his expiring is worth more than his value. Either let him expire or wait for his value to increase and trade him.

JR has always been a fcking idiot. Even when he had great games, he was still a fcking idiot. If he had a solid half of the season, we still wouldn't get much of anything for him. It's not worth messing up the team just to get that extra late 2nd rounder.
