My one concern for the playoffs

Post#1 » by Galloisdaman » Thu Apr 7, 2011 4:22 pm

Ray Felton is good at penetrating the lane.
Ray Felton is a decent outside shooter
Ray Felton is a determined defender

But regardless of assist statistics Ray Felton often is not a very willing passer. He often will only pass after he sees he cant get his own shot and he also tends to freeze some players out. I much prefer Ty Lawson have the ball in his hands. This team can win because it has so many weapons but the key to that is keeping the offense moving with everyone getting to touch the ball.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

The teams free throw percentage since the trade is a pretty big concern for me.

Gallo: 76%
Felton: 60%
Nene: 59%

All of these guys were much better then this before the trade and there is no reason why any of them should be as bad as they have been.

Sometimes these flukes are contagious. Unless injured (toe?) Gallo will always be a 88%-91% ft guy.

Felton should be around 75%-80% so I think that will work itself out soon enough. It is his me first offense that bothers me as a PG. I much prefer the ball in Ty Lawsons hands. Ray is very selective about when he will pass and who he will pass the ball to at times.

I expect Nene to be in the 65's-70's from the line so I hope that improves soon.

El Loco, you're right. Denver lost the game against OKC in the third quarter when they missed at least 6 FT.

Felton has no excuse to miss two in a row, seriously. A guard should NEVER miss both FTs. At least make ONE. It's **** discouraging for the team when the guy goes to the line and misses both.

Denver will have MUCH LESS OPPORTUNITIES in the Playoffs due to the lack of superstars so they need to shoot 1000 FTs per day until the playoffs starts... Seriously. They need to be very efficient at the FT line otherwise they wont win a single round.

Gallo looks to have bulked up A LOT over the last few weeks.

That has got to be affecting the free throw shooting.
