It is pretty laughable that you actually think the reason a top center isn't traded is because teams aren't willing to part with a couple top prospects. I'm sure good gm's would rather have a short pg who will always be a defensive liability, an injury prone sf and a "quality replacement" over the most dominant center in the game. Teams kill for size and any gm knows this.

Almost as ridiculous as Shaq's supposed superiority at age 33.

And I'd read through #72 again if I were you as well, as none of those three examples contradicted what I previously said

Severly overate Felton? How does trading him for a player just about on the same level as him, and getting a 1st rounder and future 2nd show that we were overrating him? If anything it shows we were about right in his value.

As for the FAQs, you may want to work on your reading comprehension, non simultaneous trades are exactly what everybody in this thread is discussing. If you cannot understand how they work it is really not our problem.

No, but it is to think that Gallo (who is pretty obviously a confidence player; not exactly the best player to build around) and Ty (whose size will always make him a defensive liability; not to mention his lack of aggressiveness at times) is a crazy amount to give up for the best center in the game

Maybe you might want to work on yours since you still haven't sited an example (at least one that didn't use a $10 million trade exception to eat over $15 million of extra salary, when neither team was under the cap). Be honest. You don't know how it works, or if you did you would try to explain it.

It's pretty obvious that it doesn't work out like described.

For the billionth time, I never said anything about non-simultaneous trades. I said something about non-simultaneous trades that involve using a trade exception. I might as well add the biggest trade exception in the NBA for the top free agent of the 2012 class as well.

Denver used the TPE to acquire McDyess, correct. That then gave Detroit that TPE. Detroit then used that TPE to make up for the difference in salaries between Billups and AI. This basically extended the majority of the original TPE for another year from the date of this trade. This is why that TPE lasted for longer than a year from when Camby was traded and went until a year from the AI trade.

Who said anything anywhere in this thread about a TPE being used to take on extra salary beyond its value?

Where anywhere does it say that because a TPE is in use there can't be simultaneous trades? Just give me something besides just your personal thoughts.

Did you forget to mention that you also included Nene in your trade? it is not just Lawson and Gallo, but instead Nene, Lawson, and Gallo, which is a pretty big difference.

As for your insistence on the way trade works, i do not know if you are trying to troll, or if you really just do not understand it, as it is blatantly obvious that multiple trades at the same time are allowed, and everybody but you agree. Including the CBA expert. If you can provide some kind of proof other then saying you do not think it is possible then maybe we can have a discussion, as is it is perfectly legal, and you have been given examples that show exactly how things have worked, but either refuse or cannot grasp the whole concepts that have been provided. If you cannot grasp that concept then none of us can help you, continuing to argue it is just making you look really bad.

I'll say it in all caps since you obviously didn't read my last post.

I NEVER SAID THAT YOU CAN'T MAKE MULTIPLE TRADES. I SAID THAT YOU CAN'T MAKE MULTIPLE TRADES WHILE USING (NOTE: USING IS NOT THE SAME THING AS ACQUIRING ONE) A TRADE EXCEPTION--PARTICULARLY ONE THAT IS THE BIGGEST IN NBA HISTORY, WITHOUT AT THE LEAST EXPECTING TEAMS TO PROTEST THE TRADE.

Ahem. I will admit that it is possible that I am incorrect on this. However, the examples that you and other have used have not involved such a trade exception being used.

And nah, Nene isn't that much of a difference. He might not even be with us after this season. If he is, we're going to have to pony up to get him. And he's massively underachieved throughout his career, anyways.

I'm not trolling. I like the players on our team. I, however do not think that any player on our team or combination there of would be enough to get a top ten player back.

Im pretty sure the Billups trade answers your challenge. A TPE is used not once but twice and a deal that only works when broken down into 3 separate simultaneous trades.

And since when can teams protest trades? Trade approvals are the job of the league from what I'm aware of. If a trade is legal under the CBA it is valid, if not, it is not. Simultaneous trades are not against the CBA. Using TPE are part of the CBA. Show me something that says that you can't make Simultaneous trade that involve a trade that uses a TPE. My guess is that it doesn't exist.

Take the question to the salary cap thread, I am sure there are some more informed people over there that will answer the question and provide the necessary information to support their answers.
