Why would Denver want to give away that depth for a couple of mid to late 2nds?

The 4th center on your team, why not? Even If you let Martin go, and move Nene to PF, Koufos will still be the 3rd Center. Dude has averaged about 8.9 minutes. Boy, RealGM guys are very stingy with moves unless it is mind blowing..lol

You know what....if you can make the salaries work I really like the dynamic have this depth at 4-5 can bring. That alone will open up options for our young backcourt.

I love the dynamic we have right now. I know salaries will be bottom line - but I want to see this roster push all the way this postseason and I really want to see a full season with everyone that wants to stay for a reasonable salary.

I don't think we make any moves without first seeing who is willing to work with the salary that will keep them here.

On a team that has had as many injuries to their bigs as the Nuggets have, why would they want to trade one, just so they have the chance to draft a couple of guys who likely will not even be in the league in 2 years. Rather keep a guy like Koufos who looks like he has the talent to develop into a solid rotation guy. Andersen is getting up there with age, and I am not really ready to say which of Kousfos and Mozgov have the better future.

Koufos can be pretty good if he gets the minutes soon. What happens with Nene,Anderson,Martin, will kind of decide whether he makes progress or bogs down.

Andersen probably isn't going anywhere for quite some time, but GK won't start him. I think Kmart will walk, but I still think/hope Nene will be back.

I'd be willing to trade Anderson at this point...

I LOVE what Chris Anderson brings - hustle, intensity, shot blocking. But he's not getting younger, and he's been banged up a lot by bigger centers. Koufos is 21 or 22, I believe and quite a bit bigger than Bird, and has quite a bit of potential, IMO.

If we're truly trying to build a championship contending team from the ground up, we need to rid ourselves of bigger/older contracts, even if we all love watching Anderson's tatts and antics.

I can see something happening this year with a Felton/Birdman or Felton/Harrington trade. Don't know what that would look like now, but let's get value while we can. Bird's contract, not the player, is the problem.

We need to keep Kosta on this team. I don't see us trading him.

Until now Kosta is doing great job on the friendlies with the Greek NT. Big Sofo is not playing so he has the chance to start for the rebuilding Greek NT. I havent catch any games yet from the NT, but soon Acropolis tournament will start (strong tour and the final test for the NT before the Eurobasket). That tournament i will be able to watch it, so i will try to give you more in dept analysis for him.

Just a few things that ive read from good reporters about him: Very good on pick and roll. He can post up and finish around the basket. Good at rebounds, not so good D.

Koufos set his new Greek NT career-high in points with 24:

BYU got destroyed after the first few minutes.

His confidence is through the roof right now. Really hope you give him some minutes next season.

24 points, 8 rebounds on 10/13 shooting with 3 blocks and only 2 turn overs. Solid effort by Koufos. Looks great, even if it is against college kids.

Oh and that Greece team sure can make some smooth passes. Very fluent style game from the highlights.

He has lost some weight. It is obvious that he has been working out. His post moves have developed. He stopped travelling at the reverse driblle in the lost post (he got 5-6 dunks that way). His hook shoot got improved.

He faced problems against agile European big men on defense. He sometimes lose focus and makes easy mistakes.

He has to find a GO TO move to get his psychology on the roof.

10 points and 10 rebounds in a few minutes (he enter the game at the middle of the second quarter). He altered many shots.

Really nice game for Kosta today. As a previous stated his D is relative weak but today came big with 4 blocks and 19 points. He did also very good job on Pekovic too. Plus a really nice assist to the cutter for an easy lay up.

What surprised me most it was his offensive rebounding. Very good finisher, he doesnt back off from the contact.

Really good team effort by Kosta. He put his body in consecutive screens to open up the Montenegro defense. You could see him screen between 2 to 4 times teamates. He found himself open under the basket a number of times. He needs to work more on his post moves a little bit more. He is much better facing the basket.

I like Koufos, hes underrated. Had a nice rookie season, then was benched forever. He can run the floor well, never late on defense...
I mean hes not like good good, but he is just fine rotation, 10mpg player...
Greece lost so much talent this summer, Kosta took Sofo's place and he was pretty impressive.

Return to Denver Nuggets
