Re: "Official Off-Season discussion Thread"
I wonder what other Nugs fans think of using the TPE from the Melo trade and other assets (Mozgov? picks?) to work a sign and trade for Greg Oden? Both the risk and potential reward are obviously huge, but it sure is interesting to imagine a Nugs team at playoff time of Ty/AAA/Dano/Nene/Oden backed up by Dre/Hamilton/Chandler?/Faried/Bird and possibly even JR or KMart, should Hamilton or Faried not pan out (I know, I'm throwin' around Stan and Josh's money, especially with likely bigger, badder lux tax, but humor me. Maybe adding a few Chinese TV stations to the network would help pay for that - and signing Yi Jianlian and/or Jeremy Lin to wave towels and play garbage time). Does anybody have a sense of what Oden's contract might look like and what it would take to trade for him?

I would not touch Greg Oden, i have had my fill of injury prone bigs never living up to their potential, and Oden is more injury prone then most.

In the light of the fact that you have already a better player in Gallo at the SF/PF spot, how much money do you think your front-office would be ready to trow at Chandler?
Would you be willing to pay more for him than Afflalo?
Do you think you have a sizable chance at retaining him given that he was supposedly displeased being Gallo's back-up?

Re: "Official Off-Season discussion Thread"
I think the limit of what the FO is likely to throw at WC is likely wherever the line is between asset/bad contract. He has a place on this team, though as you suggested, he may not be real happy about it. He's the only player from the Melo trade who may have regressed a bit upon coming here. Just the same, his fairly complete, intelligent, if unspectacular game should play well between the two rookies, though he may now be boxed in by a troika of guys (Gallo, Hamilton and Faried) with more upside, who IF they live up to their potential, could squeeze him out of playing time (as Gallo already has by playing just a little bit better while possessing more theoretical upside). Just the same, he is a restricted FA and as such, an asset, provided somebody doesn't offer him stupid money. For my money, he's like Afflalo but not as good and not a leader, so i think stupid money for WC is lower than stupid money for AAA. I think that if he comes back from China before the trade deadline, a sign and trade is likely, signing with denver less likely and signing for stupid money and not being matched is least likely. Under the old CBA, i'd think the line where WC went from asset to bad contract would be in the 5-7M range. Of course, i would have said Al Harrington's line was about 2M, so i obviously just don't get it.

Just realized that I more or less echoed Nuggets 18's boner comment re G Oden. sorry, dude.
I'm pretty sure Nugs would have to renounce TPEs, as well. Also have hard time imagining MEM not matching any offer to MGasol, though it might be interesting to give it a go. Pretty sure we can (if new CBA keeps old rule) un-renounce any renounced cap holds if MEM matches. Since Nugs are likely to be otherwise inactive in FA market, the wait for Memphis' answer wouldn't likely cost us anything, even in shortened signing period, something which may make other teams hesitate to make long-shot offer to Gasol. I suppose if JRS and WC have been released from Chinese teams we could lose out on any benefit from potential S&Ts while waiting, but that seems a risk worth taking, especially since their only chance to go to over-cap teams (most contenders) for more than likely-reduced MLE is via S&T.
One other thing. Seems very likely that ORL will go for broke to keep DHoward and fail. I sure would be interested in getting in on that action with a specific eye on getting their 2013 pick (the first of their picks after a season completely without Howard) with as little protection as possible. Also think R Anderson could help create the space that A Miller needs to be most effective. Anybody got ideas?

Similiar with the dream i am having lately on our roster.

Now that Lock out is over and about to become official what the heck is gonna happen to our roster?
Anyone has anything on how our FO is feeling ? Can't wait till this super high paced off season officially start.
