Trade Proposal for Afflalo from Jazz

Post#1 » by blackham9258 » Sun Dec 4, 2011 6:21 pm

Afflalo sign and trade: 5 year - $50 Million
$14M
$11M
$9M
$8M
$8M For Afflalo

For Okur (who is back and healthy... see his Euro stats and minutes)
CJ Miles
Top 7 protected GSW pick that we own.

Okur and Miles have $14M in expirings and CJ is only 24. Okur is a good center that needs to be next to a PF/C who has defensive skills... Memo isn't terrible like Boozer was but you don't want to put him with a Boozer type defensive player. This allows you to put Nene at PF.

I am interested to know two things.... Is this contract too rich and what you do you guys expect to have to pay to retain Afflalo, and also is this a package you would accept for Afflalo.

its an ok deal but there is no way we trade afflalo to jazz without getting back alec burks. build a trade around burks then i think i'd be more interested.

You see what we see... Burks has the feel of a total steal in the first round. If we offered him I think we would really end up regretting it, but we would also have to take the GSW pick away.

What do you think it will take to resign Afflalo?

to re-sign in the jazz? well the jazz have a lot of young talent, so i think he would be pretty excited to be heading over there. as far as money.... it will be anywhere from 6-9 million. i think he will get no more than that.

I'd take it, nice offer. Don't believe Afflalo would want to go to rebuilding team. To me he seems like less money- good team.

5/50 is way too much for the role that AA is capable of filling. The guy has a lot of limits

Would Denver give him up for 5/$35M and CJ and the GSW pick?

I don't see the Nuggets sing and trading Afflalo to the jazz for a highly protected Warriors pick and filler.

lol okur? he might be healthy but he's running on fumes.

we have kenyon's 17mil tpe.

he's top priority in keeping so no way we'd trade him for player near the end of his career.

the pick does seem nice but still no.

The way he works, i believe he really prefer winning situation over money. If we go into rebuilding path, he is surely gone.

If yous see Burks as a steal, why on earth would you offer such a ridiculous contract to Afflalo?

FWIW, at the same age Richard Roby was probably more promising than Burks. I think people got over excited about Burks potential to be a Brandon Roy type player, when in reality he's probably closer to a poor mans John Salmons. I would be a lot mroe excited about a late teens 2012 pick than Burks. I would actually probably be as excited with a late 2012 first round pick......Burks was picked so high because there were literally no SG's in the draft. It was so weak at the position that Burks, Thompson, and Marshon Brooks were probably the only real true SGs taken in the top 50.

I can't imagine Afflalo wanting to go to Utah in the first place. Burks could be really good but his defense are huge warning signs to me. Saying you could have played harder on the other end, but will in the future would turn me off of him.

5/50m for Afflalo? Seriously? Top 7 pick and Alex Burks? Then Denver takes on a big contract?
