.

averages 13.4 million a year. i think it's pretty fair and with the interest from new jersey/houston/indiana, he should be tradeable if the team wants to move in a different direction. i hope they frontload the contract so we have some space to work with in the future rather than having a lot of semi-useless space this year and then 8.5% raises that have him making 16+ million in his 5th year when we may need the capspace.

Posts in the NBA get paid a lot of money as we all know. This is a business but Nene's family ties and comfort with Denver were clearly more of a priority than any snub he felt from the FO. He used other teams to up his value... never really wanted to leave it seems.

Awesome. Really not a bad contract at all considering the Knicks are going to be paying Tyson Chandler over $14 million a year. I was worried we'd overpay, but this is a very reasonable contract.

Plus, Nene gets the luxury of moving back to the PF position with Mozgov in the starting lineup now.

Hopefully this move leads to Afflalo signing a reasonable deal here in the next few days.

Yep, when they bring Afflalo back I'll be stoked about the Nuggets chances this year.

awesome now bring back AAA and we will be all set for this season. cannot wait to see this team play. we went from this team could be one of the worst teams to we might be competing for a high playoff spot , gotta love it. gotta give props to masai and josh. they have really been making some good decisions. all that depth and we can still bring back chandler.

great contract.

guy got blackballed for sure. that 17 mil prediction he would of gotten with the nets, but since howard has their focus we've come out pretty well.

Secure AAA with reasonable deal & we are good to go. Pretty deep again and hopefully Karl will figure out a rotation right and quick. It would be some sight to see Mozgov, Nene front line.

Good deal for Nene. I think it's just right.

He could also be a nice trading piece if the Nuggets go down that road in the near future.

Wow, didn't expect him to re-sign. The standard big man cost premium applies, but it is what it is. Interesting:

    Mosgov 7'1"
    Nene 6'10"
    Gallinari 6'10"
    Afflalo 6'5"
    Lawson 5'11"

That's a nice-sized lineup -- size & toughness are nice qualities come playoff time. Then there's size, defense, experience, playmaking & scoring pop off the bench as well:

    Anderson
    Koufos
    Harrington (maybe)
    Faried
    Hamilton
    Brewer
    Fernandez
    Miller

Dang. Is there a better NBA executive right now than Ujiri?

It is a solid deal as long as Nene stays healthy.

Huge win for the Nuggets. Love Nene at the right price.

Doesn't this aply to every player?

No way to dodge injuries, other than prepare properly to prevent injuries through training.

I really do not like to talk about possibility of an injury or predict it on players & stuff. If it happens, it happens. Certainly not something to wish for.
