nuggets vs nets

Post#1 » by youngthegiant » Thu Jan 12, 2012 2:04 am

been a little too quiet after those two losses. hopefully tonight this team can bring some energy. lawson is out with an ankle injury. miller is set to start and stone will get minutes tonight. hopefully faried gets minutes tonight, we need a guy who can rebound out there and its a low risk high reward kind of night.

on the wilson chandler front, he is going to weigh his options but his agent has said he is leaning toward re-signing with denver. if denver does bring him back, i want to see him starting at the 3 and gallo at the 4. hopefully though we can keep his contract not too expensive, what do u guys think we shoud pay for him?

it's a tough decision to bring chandler back because at the same time i want everybody that's currently on the roster be getting playing time and i also want chandler to come back because although he's another player that fits into our system, more importantly he's defensive minded.

signing him would make karl scrap one of the other players' playing time. besides that, nene would have to be upgraded to the center position like the previous years, something i don't think he'd be too fond of.

for now i think we should just see how it goes, i think his league ends somewhere in march so we have 2 months to figure this out.

brewer has really been impressive and seems to be perfect for our style of play.

i still think that this:

mozgoz/bird/kofous
nene/harrington
gallo/brewer
afflalo/fernandez
lawson/miller

is better than this:

nene/mozgoz/bird/kofous
gallo/harrington
chandler/brewer
afflalo/fernandez
lawson/miller

in which the latter everybody is playing their natural position and nobody's being overworked. i'd only think to bring back chandler if a certain nugget injures himself which would preclude him from playing.

then again it's largely based off personality so if they agree to small playing times then i'm game. chandler seems like a cool headed person so i think he'd be fine with it.

i'd say 7 million is a bit stretching it but 5-6.5 would be fine. i think it depends what we do with miller.

^^^^^ if dirk can play pf, than i think gallo can play pf. come playoff time i think chandler inserted in the starting lineup gives us a greater advantage on the fast break. Everyone in that starting lineup can run and that will help us. the sooner chandler returns the better. karl really needs to get a feel for this team and as much as everybody likes andre miller, i feel he is a moveable piece because to be honest i don't wanna see the 2 pgs playing at the same time and miller runs the offense at such a slow pace. we are not a slow pace team, we need a true back up pg who can run the floor just as well as ty.
i really hope we move miller before the trade deadline.

come on now, compared to ty, every point guard runs their offense at a slow pace. miller pushes the tempo with his outlet passes and lobs.

Miller is right where he belongs. Karl will want to keep him awhile, he already likes him so much like he loved AC back in days. Miller gives good savvy veteran leadership team needs. like his game other than the occasional 3 pt shot he is taking.

Chandler will likely end up as a trade chip with Gallo getting better as he goes. NOH game was brutal,. MIA is going to be coming in and take it on us for the loss against LAC.

Todays game proved one thing = get Brewer more minutes!

I have been saying it since Day One, George Karl needs to find more minutes for Brewer, the guy can play!!! His 17 pts in under 10 mins in the 2nd qtr were phenomenal, the guy has found his shooting stroke and is playing exceptional defense. He deserves 16-20 mins or more every game. He hasn't had 1 poor game this season in his limited minutes, and when he does play 10+ mins, Denver is 5-1.

I think Miller needs to go down from 29 mpg to about 24 and those extra 5 mins can go to Brewer, he just deserves it and the fans love him. Great pickup by Denver management!

He has been very good, but to be "exceptional" on defense he has to stop gambling for a steal every other possession. Against the Nets he gave away at least 2 FG as he left his man free while he roamed for the steal.
I liked the blocked shot tho. :D

The Nuggets are easily the worst rebounding team in the league.

Starting Chandler and Gallo at the 3 and 4 would be disastrous.

I've said it before, Faried or Koufos should start and when Chandler comes back he eats into Rudy, Dre, and Bird's minutes.
