Kosta Koufos has agreed to a three-year, $9 million extension with the Nuggets.

Koufos left Ohio State for the NBA after his freshman season.

I love it. Clearly our coaching staff has faith in this guy to turn into a solid contributor.

Anyone else think we may use our Amnesty on Birdman this summer? I love the guy, but he just doesn't really fit in on this team anymore. I think we all can agree that we'd be better off splitting our Center minutes between Moz and Koufos and hope that one of them develops into a legitimate starter.

Al was the top choice to amnesty last summer, but he's been a huge part of our success, and I believe the last two years of his contract are only partially guaranteed. So he shouldn't be too hard to trade if we have to.

i'd rather just trade him or give him to a team, even if it means giving another team an asset like a 2nd rd pick.. we really gotta be careful with our amnesty. if worse comes to worse we gotta be able to use that amnesty on nene or even afflalo. i really like koufos and going forward will probably be our future back up center.

Can't ever use the amnesty on Nene or Afflalo's deals, the contracts had to be signed prior to the new CBA, and they had to be on the team as of the end of the last CBA. meaning Bird, Harrington, and Mozgov would really be the only candidates for amnesty once the window opens again.

i think Bird is still moveable though, and I'm sure Stan would much prefer not to throw away 10+ million dollars. So in the end, I doubt we ever use the amnesty.
