5 games in 7 nights coming right up

Post#1 » by Ice32 » Sat Jan 28, 2012 11:27 am

This week and the month of February proves to be a hectic schedule for the Nuggets and a true test as to what kind of team we are against some great teams. This week we have 5 games in 7 nights:

vs Clippers, @ Grizzlies, @ Clippers, vs Lakers, @ Blazers. I think Denver can go 4-1 or 3-2 in this 5 game stretch.

The following week we have 4 games, so thats a total of 9 games in just 14 days. With Ty, Rudy and Afflalo all recovering from nagging injuries, every player on the squad is going to be vital, as more injuries/fatigue are likely to occur.

The most exciting part of this team is the depth and the fact that any player can step up and score 20+ on any given night. So far Gallinari, Dre, Ty, Nene, Brewer, Rudy & Harrington have all led the team in scoring in a game, which gives Coach Karl alot of options and flexibility.

Yup. But if we can make it through okay, we should be able to build a lot of momentum during our 9 game homestand in March.

home vs clippers & lakers are a must. any other win is just gravy. the schedule and quality of opponent is too much to have too high expectations on the road.

This is an optimism.. :o

I expect 2-3 at the best. 3-2 would make me surprised and 4:1 shocked.

lakers are 1-7 on the road.
clippers are 1-4 on the road.

those two wins should be guaranteed at home.

grizz are 10-9 but 6-2 at home and will be on a back-to-back after playing their rivals spurs, should be an intense game.

the second clippers game is going to be a back-to-back for them.

the only real game i see losing is at portland on the third game of a back-to-back-to-back.

being optimistic we can very well pull of a 4-1 record. if we do manage to go 3-2, those two losses should come against anybody but the clippers so we hold our position as 2nd in the west.

Depth is there. I am worried Karl not reach down deep and use it properly.

You obviously missed the 5-0 road trip??

I dont think he will have a choice. Ty, Nene, Afflalo and Rudy have all had injuries lately and the b-b-b isn't gonna help. Karl will need Brewer, Al, Dre to play big minutes.

Bucks were undefeated at home
76ers were undefeated at home
New York was Double OT on the 2nd night of a b-2-b.

Nuggets could have lost those 3 games but didn't. Nuggets are flying, with or without its key players.

bucks still aren't that good.
76ers was an excellent win, but it did take overtime and i still don't think they're as good as their record.
new york is bad...shouldn't have gone to double ot.

i'm just saying this next stretch is way harder than that one. so expecting a repeat of what they did before might be overzealous.

Back on Earth, man... 5-0 was nice but comme on. We almost gave Sixers win by sloppy finish and beat crappy Knicks and Bucks. Sacto and Washinton? Great teams, sure. I like our Nuggets team but don't think they're top 3 western team. Well right now I don't think they're top 5 western team.
