Nice job retaining Arron Afflalo and Nene. Your front office did what was needed and kept two of your core pieces. Nice job by Masai Ujiri and cheers to Stan Kroenke for spending.

Why do people really think Stan is cheap? That is a complete myth. Until last year after the Melo trade, we were paying the Luxury tax for several years. Kroenke helped bring Allen Iverson into town elevating the teams already bloated pay roll. He also owned one of highest paid NHL team prior to lockout in the Avalanche. Dude isn't cheap by any means, he just wants a value for his money.

I knew from the beginning AAA got overpaid and took heat from the board for voicing this opinion. He's done nothing to justify his big pay day. His on/off is -16.5, he's shooting 41%, his counterpart PER is 14.8, so he's not playing exceptional defense, and his PER is 10.1. At this point he's not even playing at a starter level, but he's being paid like a fringe all-star. His extension is looking regrettable.

The starting salary for a "fringe all-star" is NOT $7.5 million a season.

afflalo is paid to be a 3rd/4th best player on a good team, which is exactly what he is, sure he has struggled this year, but that will happen when you take 7 months off from basketball due to contract negotiations and the lockout. afflalo showed last season he was worth the money he is being paid, and will come around soon enough.
As for being paid like an fringe all star, you may want to do some research before showing your lack of knowledge.
afflalo would be the 5th highest paid player on
Atlanta
Boston
Dallas
clippers
spurs
He would be the 4th highest paid on
Bobcats
Bulls
Pistons
Warriors
Lakers
Grizzlies
Heat
Nets
Hornets
Knicks
magic
Trailblazers
jazz
there are several other teams that will have 3 higher paid players then Afflalo next year but their contracts are escalating, while afflalo's is level. and that is not even mentioning the many teams that have most of their talented players still under rookie deals, that will be paying considerably more for their top 3 or 4 starter then what Afflalo makes.
So please tell us again how a guy who makes less then the 3rd best starter on an average NBA team is being paid fringe all star wages? don't worry we have time, obviously the Nuggets are not doing a whole lot to keep us busy celebrating right now.
by the way how are the wizards doing with all their stat stuffers?
