DEN @ OKC

Post#1 » by KAVK » Sun Feb 19, 2012 9:36 am

Can Karl overcome his cautious mind to play Faried, Stone, Hamilton decent minutes to bring in energy to the game or will he stick with his usual expected lineup?

I think George Karl has learnt now not to start Al Harrington again - he is better suited off the bench where he can hopefully find his shooting touch and provide points.

We need Ty to attack the rim like he did vs Memphis
We need Faried to work inside and draw fouls on Perkins/Ibaka, and rebound the ball
We need Afflalo/Brewer to force Durant into long shots and not let him get to the FT line
We need Dre to make smart passes and get the 2nd unit involved
Anything from Birdman is a bonus
Having Mozzy possibly back is helpful and Koufos needs a better game

If we can crash the boards, hit our shots, play defense and run, run, run, we could beat this Thunder squad.

Minutes wise:

C - Mozzy -18, Koufos - 18, Birdman - 12
PF - Faried - 24, Harrington - 24
SF - Brewer - 32, Rudy - 16
SG - Afflalo - 30, Miller - 10, Rudy - 8
PG - Ty - 34, Miller - 14

No surprise we're doing better with Jham than Rudy since Jham is actually a small forward.

Afflalo and Brewer thinking they're All-Stars kills our offense at the most important times.

To watch Rudy especially on Defense is just a sad sad sight, hope Karl continue to explore a little here and there before Chandler gets back to at least to know where to extend for depth when needed.

Why don't we play like this game on a consistent night in night out ?

This is really upsetting.

How the **** did we let this happen. This season as a whole has been one of the most disappointing ever.

Why wasn't Brewer in to guard Durant or Westbrook on their last possession of regulation? That was a very poorly managed game by Karl. Koufus played great in the first half, then doesn't see the light of day until OT. Very aggravating game to watch.

That would mean Karl won't be able to have 2 PGs on in crunch time.

Arrrg I just noticed we lost the 8th seed for the playoffs. We lose most of the tie breakers at this point. :(

I don't get it either. No reason one of our best perimeter defenders should be on the bench in that situation. Keeping Ty in there on defense made no sense.

51 from Durant and 40 from Westbrook. It is a miracle we were even in this one. What's even more ridiculous is that we should've won. Up 5 with less than a minute, leaves a pretty horrible taste. This one could have been a big confidence booster.

Denver were up 5 when Coach Karl subbed in Afflalo for Brewer with 7 minutes left in the game. So for the last 12 minutes of the game (including OT) he went with Ty, Dre and AAA, thats what killed us.

Dre played the last 17 minutes of the game and in that span had 4 pts on 2/6 FGs and 3 straight TOs in OT. Sure he kept us in the game during the 3rd, but he struggled in OT.

The fact that Brewer wasnt on at the end of the 4th or OT is really concerning. Afflalo got killed by Durant and Westbrook, Ty did not draw a foul to win the game and we let Durant do what he wanted on offense.

Wolves tomorrow and we better win, otherwise the Playoffs are gone for good.

I just wanted to say good game guys. I was at the game and some Denver Nugget fans were sitting behind me and my bro. Well one of them spilled entire cup of beer on my brother(probably happened early 4th), and I mean all over him. We knew it was an accident and even though my brother wasn't particularly thrilled about it he told them no big deal, but they kept apologizing through the rest of the game. At the end they absolutely insisted that my brother take $20 in cash for getting his Thunder gear soaked in beer. They didn't have to do that, and just letting you guys know you got some classy fans out their. :D

Take Care!
