With WC coming, what happens to Brewer?

Post#1 » by Ice32 » Fri Mar 16, 2012 11:49 am

Looks like WC is committing to Denver for around 30 million for 5 years. GK is a big fan of WC and I would expect him to play 24-30 mpg, mainly as the backup to Gallo, some PF and some SG. But with his arrival, someone is going to miss out on playing time, and I expect that to be Brewer. Whilst GK loves Brewer's energy and hustle, he relies too much on small ball lineups and uses Andre Miller as the main backup SG to Afflalo.

Brewer was a throw in with the Rudy trade, but during Gallo's time on the sideline, Brewer did an admirable job filling in as the starting SF averaging 12.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.0 apg and 1.4 spg. The Nuggets went 8-6. However Brewer is clearly more suited as a bench player where his FG% is higher and he scores more effectively against most 2nd units.

With WC on board soon, what happens to Brewer and should Denver release him so he can get PT elsewhere? Honestly, why should Denver allow him to sit on the bench as a 12th man?

I afraid WC is going to get tons of minutes playing PF...

GK loves small ball

Brewer, Rudy, Al, Faried, Koufos, Mozgov will get a drop in minutes.

Rudy and Mozgov will probably hit the occasional DNP zone.

With McGee coming, what happens to Brewer?

He losts his status of the most stupid basketball player in Nuggets uniform :banghead:

Not sure what you are referring to here, but Brewer has 12 assists and just 1 turnover over his last 5 games....I have seen Andre, Mozzy and Birdman make more stupid plays lately than what Brewer has.

The shooting foul called against Kirk in the Hawks game at the end of regulation 2 games ago was BS, Kirk travelled and the refs knew it. It was Brewer though that forced Pargo into a turnover, which led to Gallo hitting that three.

Also, if people expect WC to play mostly PF, then I guess Faried and Al will see a drop in their minutes.

What am I reffering to? Well, how about Brewer being (basketball-wise) incedibly stupid? He can't pass to a teammate as him woulnd't need to catch it behind his ears or beyond his knees. He leaves his deffensive asigments so he can freely run like a happy Bambi around the court and that Hinrich thing? Hope you remember it wasn't first time this season Brewer geniayly send the game to overtime by stupid unnecessary faul.

More likely anyone 7" or taller loses time to Faried and Al while WC plays PF.

Return to Denver Nuggets
