Rudy out for the Season

Post#1 » by DaFan334 » Thu Mar 22, 2012 8:32 pm

Apparently that back issue will force him to have surgery and be out for the year. Replaceable but does slightly limit our depth in the back court.

Unlucky for Rudy, but its probably a blessing for Stone - give this kid a chance now GK!

Whilst Rudy was fun to watch at times, he mostly chucked threes and played average defense.

I dont think we will see him around next year, he should be playing in Europe.

Our Depth in the backcourt is fine - Ty, Miller, Afflalo, Brewer, Stone, Hamilton, Chandler.

we should have waived rudy and kept turiaf. he would have been helpful in the playoffs. Maybe we can still waive him and try to land boris diaw or someone else.

I don't think we need more big man back ups in this team. We should wait for FA to sign a shooter.

Just saw the disappointing Mass Effect ending and now this... Rough afternoon.

Not a huge Rudy fan, but our back court options are already pretty narrow as it is.

Hopefully this will open up minutes for Hamilton, when we had the injury problems Hamilton played some solid minutes, and since I don't see this team being much more then a 1st round exit team we may as well develop some of the young players.

Godspeed Rudy. He is a goner next year & hopefully this opens up an opportunity for Hamilton to get a crack at some PT. With Gallo out 2-4 weeks, with Miller clearly playing hurt means Hamilton will get his chance.

What a year it has been ......

I would keep Rudy on the Qualifying Offer and not play him... just have him as a handy bench warmer.

Rudy has been having back problems and hasn't been the same player ever since this happened:

I believe they would have to waive Fernandez and I don't see them paying him to go away.

I'm gonna have to agree with Shem on this one. That Ariza play might have prevented Rudy from reaching the level people thought he could when he entered the league.

Isn't there a rule if one of your roster players is out for the year...you are able to sign any free agent (or off waivers)? Houston did that a few years ago with Yao Ming's season-ending injury

^^^ yikes.. that is a scary sequence he went through.

just going to some of the games, you can tell that he has no muscle tone at all. compared to all the other guys on the court he's extremely skinny.

hopefully we can work something out and he starts producing as he did at the start of the season, next year.

You have to get an exception from the league, and I think there is a limited time throughout the season to get it. I don't have the exact date but I am pretty sure that time has passed for this season.
