Nuggets looking at who the best long term center is

http://www.denverpost.com/kiszla/ci_205 ... ter-future.

somewhat interesting article on the Nuggets looking to find out which of the centers is going to show some balls.

Also interesting tidbit on Nene, Kizla says Nuggets tried to trade him for Horford or Josh smith and were shot down. So that makes McGee at least the 4th player on the list that they tried to get for Nene.

Kinda baffled that the Hawks would turn down a Smith for Nene trade. Financials must have been their reasoning. Nene and Horford would be a solid front court though.

yep center and pf are really the 2 missing components that will make this team a true contender. I love faried but i think he would be better off the bench. Javale has shown some flashes but i'm not sold on him as the center of the future. The question is how do we find a center without trading a main guy from our core. Mcgee is definitely moveable and so is wilson chandler. I'd like to see us take a risk and move up to draft drummond. It is a huge risk but if it pans out, he is a franchise player. I believe we need to take a risk to reach that next level and become contenders.

We'd have to give up someone big to move high enough to get Drummond. One of Gallinari or Lawson, most likely.

No.

If he keeps up this crappy playoff performance though, we may be able to re-sign him to a good contract as a backup center.
