Harrington to miss start of season

Post#1 » by Ice32 » Mon Jul 23, 2012 1:24 am

It has been reported on Twitter that Al Harrington may miss the start of the season. He has had 3 lots of surgery since the Playoffs ended and is doubtful for Training Camp.

Whilst this is a blow to the bench, Im sure a healthy Wilson Chandler and Anthony Randolph will make up some of Harrington's productivity. To start the new season, I can see minutes being:

PG - Ty - 32, Dre - 16
SG - AAA - 32, Brew - 10, Dre - 6
SF - Gallo - 24, WC - 14, Brew - 10
PF - Faried - 28, Gallo - 10, WC - 10
C - McGee - 28, AR - 14, Mozzy - 6

This may force GK to go small ball for long stretches, but Gallo, WC and AR are all capable of filling in for Harrington. We certainly have the mix capable of playing multiple positions.

Anthony Randolph just got much happier.

Randolph will probably mainly play the 4. Hopefully we don't see him much at center so that we can take advantage of our 3 7 footers. At least if Karl does go small ball, AR really isn't that small. This makes his signing make far more sense.

I don't think height makes much of a difference. Thing is, Anthony Randolph is a stick. He has no muscle, or not much definition, because of that I don't think he's suited for the 5, and barely even the 4. I feel like Anthony is much like Austin Daye, or Prince, a tweener...

This is a good thing if we want to have any hope of Randolph turning into a rotation player.

No he's a 4. He has a good midrange and athleticism but he cannot handle the ball. Prince is a decent ball handler.

You just got Iguodala and got rid of Afflalo and Harrington, if rumor is true.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Looks like done deal, but being discussed in offseason thread.
