Will the Nuggets walk through the door OKC opened?

Post#1 » by Powder Blue » Sun Oct 28, 2012 5:06 am

James Harden is gone. In his place is Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and draft picks. Now the draft picks are good, OKC has a shot to be better long term but they won't be better in the short term.

Question is will the Nuggets take advantage? Personally I was disappointed in the preseason and I'm not sure the team can just turn it on and play well in 4 days. It's not like football where the whole bench is in and the play calling is simple. All the road games scare me. GK said he'd be emphasizing defense in camp and I didn't see it at all in the preseason.

The preseason has me thinking expectations might be too high for the Nuggets this year...even with James Harden in Houston.

I was also quite disappointed in what I saw this preseason. You're right when you say this isn't like football -- a team doesn't just snap out of a funk and snap into the game overnight. Let's hope that the "emphasis on defense during camp" starts to show now that the regular season is beginning.

He does seem to do better with the lob passes from Andre Miller in the second unit. *shrug*

I think he has a little while before he can put some polish the stuff Hakeem gave him to do I saw a little in the last preseason game though which gives me hope for the future.

Return to Denver Nuggets
