Consolidation trade by the deadline

Post#1 » by MomaDance » Wed Nov 28, 2012 11:12 pm

Will definitely be happening.

Timofey Mozgov will be part of the package.

Too much depth for one team's own good. They need less role players and more guys who have respect in this league and are willing to have the cajones to step up and take the last shot at the end of close games. WIll be interesting to see who they target come February. Any ideas?

Not sure about too much depth.

Not enough talent/right pieces.

Mozgov, Chandler and Brewer are terrible basketball players. Hamilton our shooter and offensive player doesn't even play. Andre Miller re-signing was a terrible decision (needed to get a backup PG that can shoot and defend not dribble all of the shotclock away).

We can trade miller away too after Dec. 15. I think there would be a huge adjustment afterwards though.

Um, Chandler hasn't fully recovered yet (but I agree he should go), Mozzy is not needed if KK and McGee stay healthy, and Brewer is playing 22 mpg because he does more than just launch threes when he gets playing time. He also plays defense, gets to the FT line, brings energy and plays hard. JHam only plays sparingly because he still makes rookie mistakes and thinks that he has to shoot every time he touches the ball. Andre Miller is the best backup PG in the league and he's not even 100% yet. Him, McGee and Brewer have been playing great together so far and I expect that to improve.

If anyone is going to be traded, I would say the list includes: Chandler, Mozzy, Gallo.

Ice: Thank you... Might thinking worse about Brewer and his defense (mostly gambling for steals) but rest I co-sign.

I really did not expect Chandler to be this worthless this far into the season. If he's ever able to get back to his New York form, he'd be a huge asset and difference maker for this team, but I'm starting to think that's never going to happen. There's no point in trading him right now, but if he's not doing any better by the trade deadline, it may be worth it to dump him and get out from under his contract.

Trading Andre Miller is a terrible idea. He's a crucial part in developing McGee into a long-term solution at center. If nothing else, he's worth keeping around for that sole reason.

Yeah I really dont understand how someone who has watched this team consistently this season would think we have to trade Dre. Before Gallo got it going a little recently, I would say the MVP's of the early part of the season have been Faried and Dre. Javale would be absolutely clueless out there on the court if it werent for Dre and would probably have 6-8 points less a game just due to Dre lobs and setups.

Al Jefferson would be my target, If you can dump mozgov/chandler for pics to sweeten the deal for utah do it so the salaries match and we arent adding salary. that and a pick or 2 would be an ideal 2 for 1 swap that we need. Our half court offense would not be an issue if we started ty/iggy/gallo/faried/jefferson, we double down in the paint anyways every freaking time so basically our interior defense cant get much worse, and karl can mix and match with jefferson/ and mcgee if he needs shot blocker.

what do you think of Boozer? has 2.5 years at 15 mil left. Bulls are trying to put together a package for Gasol and Boozer plus a couple of picks are in play. The one from Charlotte becomes unprotected in 2016 so you can win a lottery with it, but most likely 10-12 range and the Bulls own pick in the mid-20s. You guys need a legitimate 4, Lakers need guys who can play on the wing and Bulls are desperate for a second go-to scorer.

For the same reason the Nuggets FO wont go after Gasol, they wont go after Boozer, they aint comin close to that contract.
