Isn't the goal to trade two of our top 6-7 for 1 really good player and a filler?

What really good player are you going to get? The difference maker types are not going to get traded, and if they do they are not going to want to come to Denver. When is the last time the Nuggets signed a good free agent without overpaying? Doing the deals I put out there may not be perfect but you keep the team on the same level this year, and have a huge chance to improve long term with guys who can experience Denver, giving the Nuggets a better chance to resign once they develop.

I don't mind the kings deal, the rest blow. You want to trade McGee, Andre Miller, Chandler... fine... even Iggy in the right deal.

We can make up for losing Dre and we can make up for losing some wings. Sonny Weems and Bobby Brown are flat out balling this year... could just sign them outright. We need outside shooting right? There you go... Weems is sorching nets right now.

Sonny Weems? You mean the Sonny Weems the Nuggets salary dumped a few years ago, and that struggled to get more then a minimum deal offered this last off season? You think he is going to leave CSKA to come to Denver, and do you think the Nuggets are even the least bit interested at this point? I don't see any chance of either of those happening. As for Bobby Brown, he maybe worthwhile but not as a replacement to Miller, in fact I don't see many good teams that would want to count on him to be their primary backup PG, he can replace Stone who i doubt is brought back.

As for my trades blowing, you may be right, but I personally think you are dead wrong. People that have been basketball fans for a long time should realize that guys like McGee usually never get it, he is JR Smith without the defense. In other words huge physical upside, but limited mental capacity. If I could get a decent prospect, a starting quality SG, and a future 1st I trade him today while other teams think he can still be transformed into the monster he looks like at time. Like it or not Igoudala and Gallo are never really going to be a great fit, I would trade one of them for the right pieces. As for Chandler, I would rather have an all around back up big that can play both positions well and can be a decent starter when needed, especially with his injury problems. Fact is the last time I checked the goal is to win a championship, I don't see this team being able to do that, I would rather the Nuggets go out and get some cap room (which these deals give them) and a draft pick or two while also getting pieces that fit better.

Hey I gave you credit for Jason Thompson now. But yes I mean THAT Sonny Weems. I was frankly so surprised by what he was doing I had to have a look and actually see it for myself. Just offensively he is 50% from the field, 46% 3P shooter, and 89% foul shooter. Fact is he’s blowing expectations out of the water right now. Rather than throw Brewer a competitive contract I’d much rather bring in Weems to compete with Hamilton for time. I stand by that 110%.
Same with Bobby Brown… Siena was supposed to be awful. He has also stunned me and his game just happens to fit with Nuggets. These guys will both get guaranteed deals in the NBA next year if they want them. I figure maybe Dre gets moved, we draft a PG, and we also go out and sign someone like Brown.
I am with you on McGee… trade his ass. I wouldn’t have given him that contract to begin with as noted at the time.
I’d take Thompson… but I absolutely love the production we get from Koufos for the dollar. I’d love to get a Bourousis or Tomic on a contract like that. Start them out at 3.5 million for 3 years & ship McGee outta here.
You have to admit the names I tossed out have been damn impressive this year. I just go where the talent is. All those guys would be cheap & I like them.
Beats overpaying for average free agents this summer & I think the best deals out there might be with the Warriors.

I really feel McGee is undervalued here.

Or maybe not McGee himself, but having a known shotblocker is a very underrated thing to have. The dynamic of the defense changes when McGee is on the court, opposition teams are scared to attack the basket (as opposed to going to the basket every time when Faried is at center) which is absolutely perfect for us with Iggy/Gallo/Chandler hounding the perimeter.

And while I am annoyed at Andre Miller, McGee + Dre lobs is one of the best offense in the league and dare I say is the only reason why our bench does not completely suck.
