One thing Melo did not mention is that he wanted to go to New York. To fail to mention that when considering how it all went down illustrates the exact issue we fans have with players like Carmelo. For his and his girl's reasons... he wanted to be in NY... and that was a huge part of all this... that's why we couldn't trade him anywhere else... so for him not to acknowledge that... I have no problem with fans that take a big issue with him... because I'd have a lot more respect for him if he just said... Hey I felt like I had a good hand... and I played it. I wanted to go to NY and I made it happen. Fine, no problem... it worked out for Denver too... let's move on. But for Melo to be dishonest like this... and for Spears not to hold him accountable... is pure BS.
his preference was ny, but that was not the only place he was willing to go. if the knicks were unwilling to make it happen who knows where he would be now. possibly still a nugget since the gm and coach both pleaded with him to sign an extension.
