You guys shouldve played Randolph more

Post#1 » by BRIGGS » Fri May 3, 2013 10:16 am

he played well when he got his chance couldve put him on Curry in the 3rd at 6-11 he can guard guards. Too many bad shots from Cahndelr and Brewer like 6-25 Randolph wouldve done better.

Is this a joke? Randolph did not play well, in fact he was among the worst of the Nuggets players, especially on defense.

randolph is a just a dumb basketball player.

has no concept of how to drive without charging into people, or getting off balance and throwing up crappy shots.
and extremely poor defensive awareness & decisions making
-i think it was game 2 he just stopped around midcourt to double team curry, leaving his man wide open running down the lane in transition. easy 2 points.
-indescribably bad defensive goaltending, that ended up being the point difference in the game (3)

i've never seen the talent that people rave about.

The potential was there...like three years ago. It was worse when he was in Minnesota and thought he could shoot.

He didn't play particularly well in the playoffs, but I actually liked what Randolph did in the regular season. He was unexpectedly thrown into some pretty meaningful minutes towards the end, and I thought he responded well. I wouldn't mind him having a slightly larger role next season.

Nothing to do with Randolph. More to do with Lee being injured for the Warriors which opened allowed Bogut to emerge and dominate

Outsider here.
After you guys got to see Randolph, why is it that every coach refuses to play him? Even after they are forced to and he puts up huge statlines, he still gets benched asap. Every coach has done it, so there has to be something.

As a guy that never gets to see him outside of highlights and youtube's, its just very hard to grasp how a player can put up statlines that appear to be almost at an all star level, but yet not a singe coach he has had lets him be on the floor....Its just hard to accept a guy sucks so bad that he cant see daylight but yet produces these numbers.

Career PER of 17.1
Career per36's of 17.2ppg 10.4rpg 1.7apg 1.3spg 2.2bpg (2.8tov & 4.3fls)
.462 fg% .738 ft%
Career DefRating of 106

What is it with this guy?
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

He lacks the fundamentals that Karl demands of (some of) his players. His defense is hit or miss. He gambles for steals a ton. His offense is out of control, he pounds the rock and shoots outside jumpers because he thinks he is a guard offensively.

Randolph's potential is pretty good. If he comes to the realization that he can help a team and be a rotation player for that team, he will hopefully limit his offense. He would be a taller faried if he just took easy shots and hung around the basket. without Faried's heart of course
