Tim Connelly from the Pelicans, don't know much about him but looks like he was in consideration for a couple of other jobs.

Re: New GM Tim Connelly
Looks like he was the scout and director of scouting for a few years in Washington up til 2010, which is not as bad as it sounds, as he seems to be the guy who was head of scouting when they drafted well, Hornets/Pelicans have had a mixed bag with trades and draft picks though, so it would be interesting to find out what role he played in those decisions.

Connelly, like Ujiri, is known for his international scouting abilities and has a vast basketball background. The Nuggets had previously considered Pete D’Alessandro a candidate for their vacancy, but Denver’s assistant GM left for the Sacramento Kings general manager’s job this past weekend.
Connelly joined New Orleans in 2010 after working as the director of player personnel for the Washington Wizards. In New Orleans he worked under Dell Demps. Connelly first got his first NBA experience in 1996, working as an intern for the Wizards. After graduating from Catholic University in Washington D.C. in 1999, he was hired by the Wizards as the assistant video coordinator. He became a scout the following season.
Also some info on coaches interviewing.
Meanwhile, Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw will interview Tuesday for the Nuggets’ coaching vacancy, an NBA source told The Denver Post on Monday morning. Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins, the other top candidate, will interview on Wednesday, as Denver looks to replace the fired George Karl.

No surprise here... not a big name guy but probably in inner circles is known for identifying talent and I'm sure he's cheap. Now they interview hollins and shaw as a show before moving on down the list.
I like my prospects the same way I like my women... foreign- pickIBL

Re: New GM Tim Connelly
We are REALLY sad to lose him in NOLA.
Extremely well respected and a brilliant guy. Dell Demps has said for awhile that he expected to lose him sooner rather than later.
He'll do a great job.

Seems like an attempt to find the next Masai Ujiri. I don't know anything about him, but everything I can find has good things to say. I'm excited to see what this guy can do.

I think he was a candidate back when we hired Masai. Not positive on that, but I seem to remember the name. Josh hired Ujiri, only time will tell if he made another good hire or not.

Re: New GM Tim Connelly
interesting.
guess i'd rather see them take another shot on an up-and-comer than hire a GM in the carousel.
hopefully same goes for coaching. would much rather see brian shaw than someone stale/old to the nba (probably includes hollins, since he's so anti-advanced-stats. but his guys do play defense....which is nice)

Re: New GM Tim Connelly
Altitude just held a press conference introducing Tim Connelly, here's a few takeaways if you didn't catch it:
- No timetable for hiring a new head coach. Haven't ruled out the possibility of hiring someone other than Shaw or Hollins.
- Connelly is a big fan of McGee and knows him very well. Said Javale was the first person to text him when the news broke that the Nuggets were hiring him. Thinks he is a key piece in getting this team to the next level, and will hold him to a high standard.
- He really likes our roster, strong foundation in place.
- Resigning Iguodala is still a priority.
Overall, I thought he made a pretty good first impression. I really like these press conferences and even though we don't get a ton of juicy info, it's nice to hear from the man at the top (Josh), especially with all the uncertainty around the team/FO right now. I think Josh generally handles himself well, gives good answers and comes off as a likeable guy. I think he and Connelly will make a good duo.

Re: New GM Tim Connelly
Did not hear the press conference but did hear most of the interviews on 105.5 and 104.3, sounds like he likes the team and thinks highly of the chance to make some tweeks and make the team special.
