Kroenke Jr.

Post#1 » by King Malta » Thu Dec 5, 2013 9:48 pm

Hey guys,

Timberwolves fan coming in peace!

I also happen to be an Arsenal fan. It seems we've just granted Kroenke Jr. a spot on our board as a non-executive director (seeing as his old man is a majority owner of the club it was probably a matter of time).

Just wanted to ask your opinions of him.

well, if 'ujirifan' was still around, he'd tell you josh kroenke is the worst 'owner' in sports history....etc.

i don't have any problems with him though.
thought every decision thats been made under him has been right, or reasonable given the cards he was dealt (melo basically demanding a trade, iguodala leaving unannounced, ujiri asking him not to match the offersheet, firing karl)

Josh seems to be a smart guy, and as Corona said he has made some very good and big decisions, He also seems to find some very capable management for both the Nuggets and Avalanche up to Connely who is still an unknown.

The only problem I have with either of the Kroenkes is that they seem to put finances pretty high in their priorities, but many team owners seem to be the same, and I doubt it will change the way the arsenal will operate considering stan has been in charge for a while.

I feel like he is smart enough to help where he can and put good people in positions to help where he can't. He is far more hands on with the Nuggets than his other ventures, from what I have seen, but this is clearly because basketball is a passion of his, as he was a college player at Missouri. Doubtful he will be too hands on with Arsenal.

Yea I can't see him impacting hockey on top of handling the Nuggets. Considering all the injuries and turnover I'd say he is doing just fine with the Nuggets.

Cheers guys!

I'd head some bad things previously and was a little apprehensive (not that he'll really be in a position to be making any decisions of serious consequence at Arsenal for a while) but it seems he's not as bad as I was lead to believe.

Hockey fans hated both Kroenkes over the last few years, but have changed their minds with recently hiring Sakic and Roy, and some of the young guys started to develop.
