Winning factor

Post#1 » by pickaxe » Sat Dec 28, 2013 7:48 am

So, like 5+ games ago the team had figured something out. This is going to be a weird season if it goes 5 wins, 5 losses, 5 wins etc.

What was working a few weeks ago?

We beat East teams and Nate Robinson was playing out of his mind.

Also the Nate-Miller combo off the bench has stopped working and teams are exploiting that.

I would be content with being a .500 team if we were playing young players like Fournier and Miller but it seems like we're hopelessly trying to win.

You had Faried get benched and then injured at about that time that the losing started.

But one thing I really noticed when Q Miller got on the court last night was the ball movement, recently it has stopped, you get a PG putting up shots, or passing to someone who puts up a shot, no real passing. That and defensive effort are 2 of the big things that seem to be missing lately.

One other thing I have noticed is that Shaw likes to play his veterans, they have a much longer leash, Foye has stunk up the joint, even when he was playing good at the beginning of the season he was pretty bad, yet it took this long to get him on the bench while Fournier cannot get off the bench due to not making enough shots. Hickson and Randolph are both terrible on defense, yet Faried is the one that had his minutes cut for being bad on defense.

If the plan was to take a step back and develop the young players why was last night the 1st time we have seen Q Miller get meaningful minutes? He has always been known as an all around talent, sure he has not shown a ton as of yet, but you cannot tell me that he did not deserve some of the minutes being given to Foye at SF.

for that matter Hamilton showed last night that he was a better starting SG than Foye, hell he did more in the 1st quarter on both ends then Foye has done in the last month, yet Foye still got minutes.

The only way I am going to be happy with being a 500 team is if the young guys are playing meaningful minutes, watching a team with Hickson, Foye, Anthony Randolph, and Nate Robinson eat up all kinds of minutes while we are watching the team fall apart is just dumb and needs to change.

Ty has played very sub par since his injury. We need him to play at the level he started or its going to be tough to right the ship. Shaw needs to get that aggression back in him, its been nowhere to be seen

I agree with you Rebel .....just watching the team slide down the slope.

Ty is I think ready to take it to yet another level, but giving him subpar supporting pieces is just spinning his wheels and wearing down the mileage.

Good god, just give us a coach that isn't always complacent. Karl was let go for complacency. Give me Karl and add Afflalo back, trade for one more 7 footer and one 3 pt. sharp shooter ala Korver, Reddick, or even that dude that won the 3pt contest a couple years ago.

Bolster the damn roster.....or put it back and let us take our chances......

Asik, Afflalo, Fernandez ....simple additions somehow

also, kudos to Knicks who said they wouldnt make a move....

They added a big ala my suggestion for the Nuggets. I guarantee you that adds at least a small winning streak for them.
