Fire Brian Shaw

Post#1 » by patrol345 » Wed Dec 24, 2014 1:55 pm

If the Brooklyn game wasn't enough evidence nothing will be. Up 85-78 with 6-7 minutes left, Shaw puts Hickson in at center and Nate robinson in as a shooting guard, when Faried has 16/12 and has only played 32 minutes for the game and seems to be our energy for the game. Im sorry but that is nothing but horrible coaching. Faried and Lawson brought it this game and were screwed over by piss poor coaching and his love for Hickson at center. Im all for blowing it up, but I want Shaw gone too.

I am coming to accept the fact that Shaw is going to be in Denver probably through at least the end of the season, he is a bad coach but the front office seems invested in him and so they will give him every chance to turn his career around. Given that I would prefer to see both him and Connelly gone ASAP, as a front office that loves a coach this bad with TCs history of questionable moves leads me to believe they are both incompetent.

Personally I am only for blowing it up if your keeping those 2, that way you can gather some good young players and future picks for the next GM to build a team and a good coach to make it a good team.

i think 97% of nuggets fans want shaw gone but at this point, i would rather see a roster move done 1st before we axe the coach. thing is, our current "core" is/was built for karls offense. (lawson, afflalo, wilson, danilo, faried, mozzy,) all players which karl wanted on the team for his style of basketball. we fired karl, hired a slow tempo coach, but brought afflalo back to reconstruct the same roster which was always top 3-4 in fastbreak points. there was signs all along that this wasnt a good fit but excitement for the season dulled those feelings. if we fire shaw, i hope we replace him with someone who is "clear-cut" a better coach than him becasue if we make another dumb hire, it'd make firing him redundant. if shaw is to return next season, i want to see the roster blown up completely sooner rather than later and i want to see how shaw does with a team better contructed for his, as i would desribe it, crap offense

I just don't like the "injury" excuse ....it kinda shows maybe Shaw didn't really understand what he was coming into? I mean, we wanted to be able to slow down enough to play hard defense and control the tempo. Karl at least got us a tempo and you could tell we'd have a "competing" team .....or, competent, and the only real issue was letting energy drop.

Well, damn the guy had cancer. I mean he had a plan for this team. We just had to provide the energy. I'm not sure why people never got that.
