next head coach?

This would make a lot of sense b/c the draft is in 15 days and we still don't have a coach. I like the idea of having an Associate Coach similar to the Warriors and other teams are doing, Hunt will need help.

It would also explain a lot of the weird out of the box interviews we have been doing. If this is the case I would be 100% behind a Hunt/Malone duo.

Just listened to that interview. I'd bet Hunt will be the guy and maybe one of the other guys that got an interview will be a top assistant.

There are rumors flying around the internet that Chris Dempsey was on the Fan yesterday and said that the Nuggets had offered the job to Hunt a couple of weeks ago but that Josh wanted the power to hire the lead assistant, and that is the job Malone is interviewing for, as well as a couple of others assistants.

There are also reports that they discussed money with D'Antoni and backed off after those discussions, could be he still wants big name coaches salary, but after his string of failures wrapped around having Nash as his PG, I do not see him being in the discussion for top paid coaches any time soon.

Frankly I'll be very surprised if we get an associate HC under the Kroenke's. Also I can't comprehend these calibre of coaches just interviewing for an associate HC/lead assistant position. Malone would be able to get a lead assistant position at any team he wants.

Now they just hired back D'Alessandro to be some sort of role that will support Josh K running the Nuggets and Avs...Sounds like anther cook in the kitchen. RGM also reporting that D'Alessandro pushed for the firing of Mike Malone in Sac....so I can't see the guy being brought in here.

I think D'Alessandro is just working for the Nuggets. The articles just say that he will work under Josh, who is the President of the Nuggets and Avs. Poorly worded, but I doubt he has anything to do with the Avs since he has only worked in the NBA.

This might not be good for Malone's chances of getting hired with Pete being the one who wanted him out in Sacramento.

If he is here as a capologist, then I do not see any reason he would not be able to learn the NHL CBA as well and help with both teams. It seems if he is not worrying about the rest of either business he should have plenty of time.

As for Malone, there are rumors that Pete was forced to fire him, and there are rumors that Pete was the driving force for the firing, I am guessing the only way we know is if it comes out that Malone was offered the job and either took it or turned it down.
