Sign wade, trade barton for a future pick or two. He's a value at 3m/year for a 6th man contender, he should bring back something substantial. Plus, he deserves a larger role somewhere in this league.

This does have all the feelings of a breakup in Mia. Wade was insulted by his 2 yer $10m per deal they offered him and in fairness, he should be. Wade clearly wants to be they guy still and get paid like it, which favors Denver over NYK or MIL.

I'm not a big fan of wade but even a howard like contract (70 milion in 3 years) should be awesome for a young team like denver.

We are interested in Haslem too...maybe it has something to do with Wade? Maybe he still wants to play with his long time friend..I say, S&T Wade for Faried+fillers?

We should really try and get Aaron from ORL...

Wade would be a terrible fit on the court and I don't think it'll happen, but bringing him in here would be great for this franchise.

Well, never thought I'd say this but a very impressive and intelligent write up on the 2017 Free Agency by Mark Kizla (i know, right ??) Sounds like the Nuggets DO have a plan, it doesn't really account for roster spots though but the rest is quite entertaining.

$60MM should be able to go a long way.....possibly.

Nice article - I actually expected it to remind everyone that Denver has zero FAs in 2017, but it didn't. I think that's going to be a big deal and that will be something that forces at least one trade, maybe two. Still not convinced Connelly will make any changes before training camp, other than to add one minor role player to fill out the roster (Sampson probably).

Dwayne Wade
Jarnell Stokes
Udonis Haslem
Lance Thomas

are all guys nuggets are looking at, stokes is intriguing, don't seem the need for a lance Thomas tho

I have been wanting the Nuggets to go after an older vet this offseason for a while, did not see Wade becoming possibly available (although I doubt he leaves Miami for the Nuggets). He would bring in fans, and his experience would be invaluable, but I do not like how injury prone he is, and do not see him coming here. IF he is brought here than I would think at least Barton is going to have to be traded.

Yeah, Barton seems to be the guy who's most likely traded, his value if phenomenal and he seemed to be displaced by the draft.

It's becoming more intriguing for Wade potentially coming here. NYK is out w/ the Courtney Lee signing. Of all the teams we can actually pay him without making any trades.

I think Miami ultimately has to pay him once Durant chooses elsewhere, but I'm still being cautiously optimistic. Here's to hoping first deal by Miami disrespected Wade enough to take our money and help our young core.

Wade also played 73 games last year, not bad for an injury prone vet.

If Wade arrives then you kill a few birds with one throw. You help attendance. You mentor the youth. You have a nice fat cap slot when he retires (likely soon). He also can play a little. Sign me up but this is more likely a pipe dream.
Canned in Denver.

Hard to say no to Wade - he's a legend in his own time - I've already said I'm opposed to the Nuggets grabbing him, but I wouldn't be too angry if they did - he would indeed help attendance and without a doubt, the youth would listen to everything he says, just as Mike Miller was listened to --- but he's going to play 30+ mpg at SG and that will limit Murray-Harris-Beasley-Barton there - trade Barton and let Murray play 15 mpg at PG and Harris play 15 mpg at SG and Beasley seems wasted --- Murray seems more of a SG with handles than a PG - wouldn't the future be great with Mudiay-Murray backed up by Beasley and hopefully Harris too?

Well, if Wade does resign with Miami (likely) worst case is that we continue to build with our youth and we have diminished the Heat's salary cap for next year as he'll likely sign a least a 2yr contract.

I'm convinced D-Wade is just using us to leverage Miami into giving him more money, but this would be so great for the franchise. If it doesn't happen, no sweat. Just stay the course, keep developing, and trust the process.

Not going to frown on the Nuggets signing a future HOF player, even if it means Will Barton has to go and the youth don't play big minutes early on. The Nuggets have to spend money on someone. Wade on a 2 year $40 million deal isn't terrible. No "asset" would be lost in the process either. Could be the first domino to getting someone else here.

That Kizla article was the most positive I've read from him in awhile....but all those names he dropped are less likely to sign here than Wade in my opinion. A super-star in the prime of his career isn't going to sign here in 2017 to come play with the kids, there has to be a little more incentive than that.

Highly unlikely he comes to the Mile High City tho...

More likely 2-3 years for 50-70 milion.

Return to Denver Nuggets
